DO NOT, and I repeat, DO NOT try an ODST FF unless you can follow them canon-like.

An idea for you? Try smaller stories before a full-out FF.

But if a FF is your main desire, try something like a Marine's Diary found after a huge fight and hold-out in something and .....  you get the idea.

In my times, the darkened days,
    Evil invaded the world.
    We farmers,
We workers of the Red Union,
We united and slaughtered them all.
    The brave soul,
    Above the evil,
Planted our inspiration atop their burning cities.

    Spartan-FFs are overdone.

    ODST FFs are waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay overdone.

Pretty much everything on the UNSC side has been written about multiple times. If I were you I'd write something really original, like a Covenant FF, a Heretic FF, a Flood FF or anything else you can think of just try to stick to Halo canon when writing; ya know not ridiculous statements such as "Then the Spartan controlled Scarab hopped into space and landed on top of a Covenant Destroyer and beamed down the entire Covenant fleet with its uber lazors."

    Ya know, exaggeration.

"Die?"Kurt laughed."Didn't you know?"he told the Elite. "...Spartans never die."

How about a short story where a group of marines somehow capture a Scarab and use it against the Covenant.  They could have some sort of brainy tech guy (with glasses of course!) who figures out how to operate the thing.

The climax could be that they've got to protect some important settlement (possibly their families are sheltering in it).  The marines see that a Covenant ship is approaching the settlement to glass it, so they turn their Scarab's beam on it.  Bang!

What do they call a role-play FF?

    That'd be beastly!

Dude, the pure coco roundness of your head alone makes you great.

They don't need a guy with glasses, Johnson figured it out on his own too. And I don't think a ship can be destroyed by a Scarab.

    Cool idea though.

I was thinking about doing one about a grunt

I haven't seen many of those and I liked the grunt sections in Contact Harvest

It's always nice to have a springboard to help focused your efforts.

Going in blind leaves it much harder and the story can become disjointed and convulted.

Using your own imagination in your own story doesn't lead to a convoluted plot. Wanting ideas or your own story is lazy and nonsensical. Why you'd want to write someone else's idea outside of ghost writing is beyond me.

Its a common fact that K.love wants to start an argument every 5 minutes no matter how stupid the topic is. =p
