    How the Battles might work!

Lots of questions have been raised about the continuity of the battles of the halo universe and about how we never won! Well when the spartans came along we did start winning ground skirmishes but then the covenant would just destroy us from their ships.

Any way, more on topic, i would like to say that the battles you fight in halo wars dont have to be you destroying then enemy, why not guarding a ship while it repairs, getting vital information, protecting a wounded battalion of spartans for long enough so they can get EVAC, what i am saying is that dont think inside the box, halo is a huge universe there so allow yourselves to imagine it!

    just my two cents: P

well if they do have you guarding a ship they better have a ton of enemies coming at me to keep it entertaining.  just not the occaisonal 8 units every 3 minutes.

As far as i recall, they could win without the spartans on the ground, the spartans were just a big help ! Of course such scenarios you mention could work, but still there has to be some search and destroy once in awhile, perhaps you need to take out a covenant drop zone in a city so that you may safely evacuate civilians, but missions should be a little more than just one objective and then that is that, they should be varied, there should be secondary objectives that can give you bonuses  and ease the current mission, or just be really cool to do.

most rts's are creative in that way, if you look at certain rts's like starcraft, or even dawn of war you can see that there is some more creative mission ideas

Knowing how much the marines get shot up im sure there will be some good medi-vac missions :)

And the UNSC wasnt losing All the time before the spartans showed up, the marines may be cocky and sometimes annoying in the FPS's, but they can obviously get the job done :P

    just my two cents :)

Scenarios you are talking about can only happen in the Single Player campaign.

Not really. One player could be the Covenant and the other Human forces, or have like 2v2 with less units, so more tactics have to be used.

Who says you can't have multiplayer scenarios ? it could actually be a little fun if you ask me.

Yes, its possible you can play the campaign online with a friend.

But RTS online games are usually RMS games.

basically, Random Maps that are generated where you follow the normal RTS build and destroy gameplay.

I have got a question. It sounds like everyone of you think that Halo Wars will be a more or less classical RTS game with the camera on top. Why? As far as I remember Full Spectrum Warrior is a RTS game, too. Why couldn´t it be something like that?

I'll tell you why, because Full Spectrum Warrior is gay plus it has a small expanse of a battle. Due to the trailor, I would expect there would be massive battles like the ones in Command and Conquer or Lord of the Rings Battle for Middle Earth II.

Re: How the Battles might work!

I think alot of you are miossing my main point that there might be other kinds of battles in the singleplayer campaig other than just the standard RTS ones. I am saying, because the UNSC lost alot of its battles doesnt mean it didnt reach objectives in the main course. I was just trying to say that although in the books the lost battles, they might have reached important objectives during it.
