    character design

create a character of the halo universe, and I'll try and turn it into a fanfic, the more the merrier. the only rule I have is don't get too ridiculous and try and make a name that would sound canon. halo.wikia.com will give you how covenant names are pronounced.

     my character and example:

    Name: Suon Mactamee
    Race: Sangheili (elite)
    Birthplace: Sangheilios, Mactam Kaidon
    Rank: Honor Guard
    Lifespan: 2519-2552

description: Born in Mactam Kaidon of Sangheili, Suon was raised like any other Sangheili, seperated from immediate family to determine rank not on family, but on acheivements. Suon himself scored moderately high and was given rank as soon as he came of age. Suon served in many battles in the Human Covenant War (earning the rank of atleast major) before being asked by the councilers to serve in the Honor Guard, which Suon readily accepted. No notible achievements came from Suon until the changing of the guard in 2552. When approached by Jiralhanae, Suon stood his ground, not taking off his headpiece or relinquishing his stave. When One attempted to take the stave from him, he drew his sword and cut him down, forcing the others to take action. Suon killed seven Brutes before being killed himself from a Brute Shot grenade. His corpse was left in the slums of High Charity and His honor was revoked. it wasn't until after the Great Schism that Suon was honored as one of the first Sangheili to stand against the Brutes Tyranny.

    XSmile4Youtube

    name: untote madus

     race: Jiralhanae (brute)

    birthplace: Doisac

    rank: Chieftain

    Life-span: 2515-2560

Personality: He is smart overall, but is great at tactics. He is stubborn and often goes against orders from the Chieftain of the Jiralhanae. He is also very proud and will not admit if he messes up.

    Name: John Shephard

    Race: Human

    Birthplace: Earth

    Rank: Commander

    Lifespan: 2511- 2552

He is a tenacious individual with humanity's survival at the heart of all his decision making. He is morally sound in his reasoning and also a big ladies man.

Claim to fame: Died in the defense of Reach.

    Russian 6th Guard

    Name: Afanasi Vasiliev

    Race: Human

    Birthplace: Smolensk, Russia

    Rank: Lt. Colonel

    Lifespan: 2510-2570

description: Afanasi was born in Smolensk, Russia in 2510. When he was 15 years old, he heard about an alien attack on Harvest.  The majority of his family had lived their and now he had only his parents left.  From that moment on, he swore an oath to protect Earth at all costs.  When he was 18, he enlisted into the United Nations Colonial Militia and rose up in the ranks quickly.  He became a Staff Sergeant after his actions in the Moscow Riots of 2533.  He then left the United Nations Colonial Militia to attend Officer Candidate School.  After graduating from Quantico, Virginia, he was commissioned as a 2nd. Lieutenant and was immediately shipped to partake in the Battle of Leonis Minoris.  His quick thinking saved over 300 civilians on Colony-2 before it was glassed.  He was awarded the Colonial Cross and Gold Star for his actions.  He was also given a promotion to Lieutenant Colonel and transfered to Head of UNSC Colonial Militia.  He saw less action other than several Rebel incidents and some riots.  During the 1st Battle of Earth, he organized a defense of Smolensk that took the full blow from a Covenant Carrier's attack.  They fought it back, but not before half the city was gone, and 3/4th's of the Militia in all of Russia gone.  Heeding the call that the Covenant were interested in the area, he called for some reinforcements from neighboring nations and the force grew to 130,000 strong, with some UNSC Marines and Army personal helping.  The set-up defenses during the interlude between the 1st and 2nd Battle of Earth.  When the 2nd Batte came around, he was faced with a decision that haunted him.  In order to save the area, he had to destroy the area.  He later wrote a memoir of his life and experiences.

    AC Matt Klassan

The Enlightened  (2554-?) (Early model ?-2554)

    • Devastator-class ship
    • 22.83 kilometers in length.
    • Hull able to withstand a FOOKING SUPERNOVA with NO SHIELDS at point-blank range without suffering even 0.1% damage...
    • Shielding system able to deflect/withstand ALL forms of radiation/energy weapons, including the type used by the [Halo] rings.
    • Shielding system also able to deflect/withstand massive amounts of projectile weapons.
    • Powered by 30 Ancient Zero-point modules, also runs off subspace...
    • no planet killing weapons, however. [too OP and takes all the fun out of fights]
    • over a trillion Ancient Drone Weapons...
    • several thousands of railgun emplacements all over the ship...
    • ...along with several thousands of directed energy weapons...
    • ...4 Super MAC guns...
    • ...2 Energy Projectors...
    • ...over 500 plasma turrets, the kind that can gut a UNSC dreadnought in one shot...
    • several million spacefighters, made of the same material as the ship's hull...
    • ...and has the same shielding as well...
    • ...spacefighter shielding is only activated in case of emergencies...
    • It can produce it's own ZPM's, so no worry of running out of power...

Oh yeah, 5 planets were discovered made ENTIRELY out of this metal, so we used the gravitational forces of a supermassive black hole to break up these planets into small manageable pieces, then hauled the pieces to ship factories and churned out ships. Even with them broken into pieces, the smallest chunk was one and a half times the size of Earth's moon, so we made a new class of ship, the Devastator-class. [The other classes of ships are still in service, however.]

Each Devastator commands it's own fleet of ships, designated a Devastator battlegroup.

For high priority missions, a Devastator fleet is assembled. This is usually 3 Devastator battlegroups in one.

Only once was a Devastator armada assembled. A Devastator armada is 10 Devastator FLEETS in one. That was to travel to the Flood home galaxy and raze the parasite. [Mission accomplished. Flood are extinct.]

    UnboundTrex

    Name: William Maverick

    Race: Spartan

    Birthplace: Alberta, Canada

    Rank: Brigadier-General

Lifespan: 2512-2583 (Sorry if his age doesn't match the timeline, I've only read one Halo book)

Description: One of the newer generations of Spartans and separated at the age of 6 like all Spartans, he was one of the unrecognized during the main part of the war. Little was it known that he was supposed to be kept discreet as he was part of a special ops team that did secret work on Covenant forces. During Reach he was posted in a military base in charge of a squadron of over 500 marines as a Commander. After the Covenant began to advance, they were forced to retreat to where he thought there was reinforcements. Instead of finding the help and supplies that he desperately needed for his troops, they found dead marine and elite bodies littering the ground. The Covenant was still advancing and there was little time to spare. He spotted 3 abandoned phantoms lying on their sides and Warthogs and other vehicles that were barely functional. Realizing that they wouldn't have enough time for all of them to board the different vehicles, he forced them to retreat and prepared to distract the Covenant long enough for his men to escape. While looking through the large weapon choice available due to the catastrophe that he found, he gathered up a Spartan laser with half charge, a sniper, and dual energy swords. As the Covenant got closer, he used the Spartan laser to shoot down the incoming phantoms, which dropped onto the advancing troops. The laser ran out of energy as he shot the last phantom, so he switched to his sniper. Being a Spartan he was one of the best trained all around military personnel and this included his knowledge of weaponry. He tore down the enemy forces with a trained eye. And he shot down 80 elites before the clip ran out. He didn't have time to find more bullets as by then the rest of the army had reached him. Taking out both energy swords he charged and began a mad assault, tearing down any enemies near him. The Covenants were firing desperately to try to take down this demon-like foe but to no avail. He killed more then half of their forces before exhaustion overtook him. He fell to the ground panting, and they swarmed him...when a bright light shone through the mob. The squadron he had saved had gotten help! The mob turned to see incoming tanks and hornets. Realizing they had no chance they fled. Will or Spartan-102 was bedridden for days. After feeling well enough to walk again, he went to the ceremony in his honor, and received his new title of Brigadier-General. He continued to provide strategical and physical help, and continued to serve until he was killed during an assault on the main UNSC headquarters on Earth. He once again sacrificed himself to save others.

A pivotal moment in his life was the covanent attacked a human colony, Gray and his fellow headhunter were sent behind the enemy lines on the planet to stall so the UNSC could evacuate the colonists, before Gray's evac arrived he witnessed the planet begining to get glassed. in that moment he realised how low humanity's chance was. his next mission involved him and fellow headhunter on an island where the covanent began a mining facility and to cause chaos and ultimately dissable the faucility. in the end of that mission his fellow headhunter died in the destruction of the island and Gray barely makes it out alive. he never gets used to the replacement

As far as I can tell, most of the people don't seem to care about anything like this or things related to FFs, but because I've only been back for about 5 days its hard to say.

    Re: character design

well, that's the thing, I know I didn't spend TOO much effort on that character, but I did spend a good hour scanning through the Sangheili section of halopedia to create a good character for a fanfiction, but no one else wants to add characters.

    Re: character design

I liked the little bit on Suon.

But as for his rank before joining the Honor Guard...why do you say "at least Major"

Why not give him a specific rank?

    He did.

He said he retained the rank of major.

Meaning that he had been at major before becoming an honor guard.

Suon himself scored moderately high and was given rank as soon as he came of age. Suon served in many battles in the Human Covenant War (earning the rank of atleast major) before being asked by the councilers to serve in the Honor Guard, which Suon readily accepted.

    Why "at least"?

because it's not known, even to myself what rank he truly had before the rank of honor guard, only known that he surpassed an Elite minor. this is because I'm not too sure the list we have on all ranks of elites is a complete list, and ultra seemed a little too high.
