    PoR on BG

    okay so i'm using PoR at the moment in 1v1's just cause i find him fun to use, the only problem is that i suck with him, probably wouldnt even get a ts of 42 with him but im workin on it :P

    on blood gultch i have lost at least twice recently because of a combination of gauss + wingman hornets , this is mainly cause i couldnt get enough vampires out cause i couldnt consistently keep a reacter, and gauss rapes air. just wondering what i should do here or if it's just one of those situations where you have to cripple your opponent before they get to that point

    anyway i was basically wondering how many units should i keep near each of the hooks (im thinking 1-2 wraith/hunters plus jackels in the towers)

    i was also wondering if the initial path my prophet takes is alright, basically i will go t first and build an ehg as soon as it is made then i will send my prophet to the reacter on my side while sending the ehg to my supply elevator (use the ghost to kill the sniper) i was thinking of getting my ehg to collect crates on the way to the supply elevater but if i do that there is a good chance that my opponent would have gunner hogs by the time i get him to the hook. then i'll get blessed imo as soon as i can + clear out my reacter, i'll probably go hall/factory 5th and head over to my opponents supply elevater and then attack my opponent (ill get a front turret to protect my hall and make hunters/wraiths to defend the back if need to for the first bit)

     if i saw my opponet had no vd or ap i would just attack with jackals+wraiths (maybe a locust and upgrade PoR beam), if i saw a vd i would would spam hunter + wraiths and if i saw an ap i would get ancestral fairly early and make some ghosts (or get vampires not sure yet)

    goin to bed right now so i'll check/reply to posts when i wake up tmw mornin

    have a couple hunters and jackals by your suply hook and just have the rest with your prophet, you should be able to dual pump units from this and camp a reacter until you have enough tech 2 units if you need it. If you must, you may want to go age up just so you can keep pumping units. hornets god down so fast with vamps that you should be able to stablize an army while he deperately try to keep pumping hornet, gauss also go down pretty quick to tech 2 hunters/wraiths, from there you just have to keep your units alive and you will eventually have a lead.

    keep most of your units together so gauss has to go through your hunter/wraith to get to the vamps.

    its also good to try and push for a second base on that map because the map is so linear.

    its a pretty annoy map as prophet because the size of it and the speed of the prophet to move to each hook.

    You have to give Hogs respect & get a Turret immediately or you'll lose quickly. Your Hooks are important, but your Ghost should definately be collecting crates rather than killing a Sniper and risking an RPG (Choppers can do this, simply because they ram and can get back to collecting). It's boring, but you can't leave your base to get your Hooks until you're secure.

    okay i'll agree with the ghost/sniper thing just cause there have been a few instances where my ghost would get killed and so would my ehg when i try to do this and my eco feels shoddy for a little bit.

    i disagree with the needing to get a turret up imediately (first off most people suck anyway but thats a different issue). if i go temple first and go straight for my supply elevater i should be able to get blessed and an ehg in the hook before gunner can be researched, when the hogs show up to my base i can just camp a turret, the most i will lose is 1 unupgraded wh's which isnt a big deal since i would have had the supply elevater about 1-2 minutes earlier which makes up for losing that 1 wh's.

    normally i will get a front turret by my hall/factory at around 2:30 - 3 minutes anyway

    Just send your Ghost over straight away to scout briefly. If they are going Reactor first or second, you know the likelihood of being Hog rushed so just make a Turret early.

    ya i already do this, usually i will collect 1 supply crate and send my ghost over to check for hog production, even if they arent making hogs at that moment i usually get one up later

    ok this strat will get you tech two faster, but you honestly dont need it that fast also it will allow them to get tech 2 twenty seconds earlier, and if you need to recall you wont be able to kill the hook quick enough to prevent gauss.

     you will have a much better time doing this.

    temple first

     queue up ehg send your prophet to your rescource hook

    (teleport sword guy) you will get hook 20 seconds earlier than by walking him there using ghost to kill sniper

    scout for early gunner with ghost after 1 crates gather crates with prophet at your rescource hook.

    go get reactor on their side, now you have a couple  choices.

     

    this is what i like to do, temple fifth on main and upgrade blessed imo and blessed warehouses. put jackels/grunts in each tower by your rescource hook AND 2 in that little hidden circle area that usually has crates right over by the rescource hook.  basically jackals to hold down your hook prophet to harass there base and keep reactor on the side of your rescource hook. keep your prophet between the reactor on their side and their base.

    hook harrassment- occasionally you can go to there rescource hook and drop in a couple jackals and leave with your prophet (i would only do that if they are making a move on yours and you cant make it back.(they will think they have the hook leave go to their hook. you get theirs and your jackals in that spot take your original back in seconds

    I generally do that and grab the supply hook right away with temple first but instead of immediately getting blessed its more economical to get a turret up quickly. You do need turrets anyway if you want to move your prophet from your base so putting them up right away gives map control more quickly.

    lol i beat owned nubckake on that map going 2 w and t 3rd on that map.. i dont play ones but i think a key on that map is going straight for anders reactors is the only way to beat her dont let her get that quick tech 3 wraiths and hunters do well and if you see airpad no need for summit just a couple of ghosts+leader support wingman plus gauss will not be a problem
