A hook is a usable structure pre-placed on the map. EX: Reactors, supply elevators, sniper towers, that kinda stuff.

And if you really are a newb, then you would have said fine gentleman instead of newb

and how is handing out free things helping him? If he read the FAQ, it might also answer other newb questions he has. Giving him answers only encorage him to make another pointless thread when he has another newb questions. I also helped him because he now knows if he needs answers, he can read the FAQ.

A hook is (insert definition here). They are very useful if you can claim them.

Later on, I suggest you use the FAQ for your questions.

 

Give the kid a chance. He might not even know of the existance  of an FAQ on this site. (Yes, I know it's up top on the bar. W/e)
