    Quitters

Being a halo fan and enjoying RTS's I decided to go out and buy Halo Wars and I must say I'm impressed. I flew threw the campaign and got my achievables (bleep bloop) and decided to to try multiplayer because I'm really enjoying the game. But then something happened......

I wasn't suprised to find out I'm not good at 1 on 1. This game was been out quite a while so mostly hardcore fans remain who have a huge learning curve advantage over me. I win a few here and there and try to learn and find counters to these rushes I'm faced against, but am getting tired of it. So I moved on to the 2v2's and 3v3's......which leads me to the subject title.....

     WHY ALL THE QUITTERS?!?!?!

Seriously out of the several dozen games I've played over the last few days only one game (which I just finished, and won with 1st place ^_^) have I been able to play all the way through without my teammates quitting on me! Why???

They see my low rank (i'm new) ~THEY QUIT~

They see our opponents higher rank ~THEY QUIT~

I don't respond IMMEDIATELY to them through my head set or my other teammate didn't ~THEY QUIT~

They didn't like our teammates leader, voice, whatever ~THEY QUIT~

Sometimes I don't know the game starts and ~THEY QUIT~

    We'll be winning ~THEY QUIT~

My teammates Initial rush fails ~THEY QUIT~

    .......~THEY QUIT~~THEY QUIT~~THEY QUIT~~THEY QUIT~~THEY QUIT~........*sigh

     ~Venting done~

I guess what I'm asking is this. Is this a trend that happens frequently or am I hitting a horrible spree? I LOVE THIS GAME ^_^ And am more or less trying to find the active fan base who wouldn't mind playing with a new guy and actually completing matches.  My gamer tag is xODST Preacherx and I'd love a friend request from some veterns. Because I'd like to keep this game and grow into this community but if the trend is always going to be playing with randoms and dealing with quitters I might as well take it back. So please add me ^_^

    Re: Quitters

Its a fantastic game, most of the people here on the forums are pretty much obsessed with it. Yes, if you are playing 2v2 or 3v3 non-party teams then people will resign almost every game. I don't know why they do it, they just do.

In party teams though nobody will quit until they have absolutely no chance of winning, with the exception of some low-level teams that quit when they see generals. So finding some solid team-mates like you're doing is a good idea.

From what I understand from this forum is that "kangaroo love" is the boss around here and theres some poser named "sPro Mitch?" who keeps saying he's the best but he's not.

    Re: Quitters

In 2v2s and 3v3s, yes, that happens alot and no one knows why. But not everyone is like that until they are very, definitely, absolutely sure they are losing.

Halo Wars is a great game but there are still some flaws the game definitely needs to work on. But if you keep trying, you will find a rightful group of people who are'nt as unreasonable as you say they are. Now that you are done reading this, get out there and fight the world! lol.. XD

This game needs a replay mode and free roam cam to take pics with.

    Re: Quitters

if the other team sees my friends and my rank, Brigs and Generals,   they quit as soon as the match begins.    I wanted to suggest a patch that you will lose EXP when you resign- that should help these situations

    Re: Quitters

    yea I mean come on

how hard can it be to install some kinda punishment for quitters?

sure within the first few months they let it go but when enough people complain they genually install something to make the game a bit more enjoyable.

sigh oh well, at lease there's party teams.

but aside that add my gt: MartinGrimAngel

just a warning though I wont be online for a while considering my xbox got the most deadliest ring in the world >_>

even if they do this there's no way it would stop people quitting

    Re: Quitters

They should take the option to quit off the menus, so the only way to leave a game early would be to go back to the dashboard.  Obviously you'd still get the odd quitter, but the vast majority of people would get bored of having to load the game up again, hence more people seeing it through.

    Re: Quitters

i think a lot of people quit because they don't have the time (or even patience) for a longer game.

i usually play 3v3 and every other game i'm either shorthanded or have the upper hand. eitherway, it's still fun to play.

my friends online keep asking me to play MW2, but i just can't bring myself away from HW!

    Re: Quitters

There's no way to stop someone from leaving a game if they want to. They will simply turn off the xbox if they want to.

And we already punish people who resign by not giving them the completion bonus.

The completion bonus is way to small and quite frankly, now that you've made General 960K the points won't mean much of anything to anyone anymore...  :(

Aloy is right, I suppose that you could be punished by losing EXP, or not being allowed to play a game for a (insert time here) limit.

Either way, with the Iron Hand of MS involved, change happens slowly. (read: TU4)

people should be forced to play even if they want to quit, microsoft should hire ninjas that kills anyone who tries to leave a game.
