    this game seems to be...

I was thinknig and I think that this game is mainly natrual talent at it, either your good or your not when you play this game and you can only get so much better because it's mainly how you think or how your playstyle is. I look at some of the top players first accounts and to get a high TS and skill level you have to almost only win, and to win all your games so esaily when you first start takes natrual skill, I look at iechoic and even when the game first started with it's POR imbalance and everything he just always won anyway and he didnty even come to the forums to learn how to beat it he jsut ebat it on his own.

same with all the other top players, I really only know one person who has accually grown to be a good player and just wasnt always good at it and that's MLC stealth. Everyone else jsut seems to be good at it atuomatically. Sure you get better but you wont get to a top player position it takes nartrual skill at this game that most people jsut dont have.

this may jsut be my thinking because I have hit a platuea and I know i'll never get better and I just look at some players who are right there with me never accually getting better jsut pulling of some lucky wins every now and then. that are far and inbetween.

Intelligence is rewarded everywhere my friend, even here.... In a RTS game, where quick logical decisions will make or break your games.

skill has more to do with how much you play i think. look at how many games meatshield has played on just one out of his several accounts and then look at his places on the top leader lists. practice makes perfect.

Re: this game seems to be...

hsi first account he hardly ever lost he didnt even need pratice, even with that many games he still needed to win most his early games and all of his later games to get high on all the leaderboards. He was jsut natrualy good, just like how you were at DM, you didnt even need any pratice with it you just pwned at it without trying and when you faced bettr people you jsut got better then you already were like everyone else but seeing as you already started out good your now a top player.

doped goat didnt even have alot of games played at all he jsut choose arby stuck with im and even playing him 1v1 got 44 TS he was jsut good at this game without trying. Any other game takes atleast some sort of pratice

then again, look at Owned Nubcake. he has played 1v1 halo wars since release and hasnt stopped. ive matched him 3 times (twice in DM, once in standard) and i havnt lost to him once. he probably has 100x the 1v1 standard experience that i do and i owned his ass in under 10 minutes in an anders mirror.

owned nubcake is free TS and also a perfect example, he has played a *** load of games and isnt really that good. You either have it or you dont in this game I think

shooters like cod, halo, and gears take coordination and therefore require time to attain muscle memory. halo wars is more a game about decision-making which can sometimes be a natural skill for some when it comes to rts games.

decision making making is important but what about micro, what about unit knowledge, what about learning BO's, I know when I was a recruit I faced people way better than me and I had to go through trail and error to learn some of these things, the fact that they must have faced good people starting out to, I jsut dont understand why some people play this game so many times that and wont get better where others play like 700 games nad only lose 30. I have about 1000 games played in all and I cant even get past 40 TS, im just dont have that skill you need natruely

Re: this game seems to be...

My friend who I used to play this game with is some kind of natural prodigy at most video games. He picked up Halo wars (which was the first RTS he's ever played) and was instantly good at it. If it wasn't for me holding him back in 2v2 he'd probably be a top player, but he isn't a RTS guy and didn't continue his reign. He can picj up anything and be good at it. He got Rock Band, picked up a guitar and was abe to play expert in a matter of days. Skill is beyond muscle memory and experience, though that makes a player better over time.

Well, is overall 41 good?  If not, what is the good marker?  Because seriously my friend and I have been running the 2v2 party show while everyone has been at MW2.  Anyways point is him and I both started off as like solid 32's not amazing or anything at all, in fact, incapable of maintaining any semblance of a record in 1v1.  Now we are looking for someone to beat us badly (without me lagging out(fn annoying)).  Hasn't happened...

I consider 40 a good TS but some people are higher mines pretty low compared to most for msot it's 45 to be good which is jsut dumb because there are so few people who attain that TS really

maybe they played the hell out of the demo?

i thought i had played the demo a lot, but after getting owned pretty hard in pre-patch PoR mirrors, i realized that there were others who played far more than me. i wish the demo included a reactor hook map though. it wouldve been a big help early on to know why my defense gauntlet jackals were losing to my opponent's beam jackals.

It's Guitarmanken. I don't think you'll be very impressed with his HW stats, this wasn't his game. It's more of what he does in real life, he plays guitar (obviously) and can do things that your brain can't usually do, like pointing with you right index finger and giving a thumbs up with your left thumb then switching back and forth really fast. Or drawing a 6 with your finger while moving your right foot clockwise. The weirdest is putting your two index fingers together and making one do a circle one direction and the other the other direction, he can do over and over without a problem, it's realy weird.

But anyway he's a natural prodigy at everything.
