    covenant odst

i think the elite honor guard are the odst of the covenant

i was playing 2v2 as PoR and i had about 30 , now i was trying to get rid of them so i could build a scarab and a bunch 30  engineers to go along with , so im trying to get rid of my elites so i send them to forges base to get killed , im just managing my base awhile , so i look back over at my base and ive got like 20 elites left over all attacking 2 grizzlies , by the time i had about 5 elites left over , forge already sent in 2 more grizzlies .

but thats not all , the pretty neat thing to do with them is to get a flying prophet , and research for like 50 elites locked in a base , then when you've got your 50 elites just go to your enemies base , and start circling his base with your prophet while at the same time releasing all your elites through the grav lift , that way they fall from the sky ,

even better they get a sheild , invisibility , they shred up infantry , and can kill tanks in swarms

    brutes are better!

    or suicide grunts.

ehgs are the worst to spam 50 of them.

they are good anti odst spam. 30 of them can easily kill a full army of odst plus drops.

I wouldnt suggest spammign them like you did but they are indeed great units for early and mid game then there pretty useless though same with any of the unique units

Elite Honor Guads remind me very much of Zealots in Star Craft.

    Eat? Canister? Unheard of!

Perhaps Hunters could learn a thing or two from the elephants...or wear ceramic armour.

That's what one Cutter said when he tried that against my 3 Sprizzlies.  They all died, and I got a 14 star Sprizzly.

    Re: covenant odst

If you remember there was an old Halo 2 trailer which had Elites falling from Regret's Carrier in strange pods. Only time these are seen in gameplay is in the beginning of the level Uprising. I think I might be too obsessed with the Halo story, wait... that's impossible.  XD

    Re: covenant odst

*maybe* gameplay wise, but definitely not lorewise.

They're used for completely different things. They are completely different things. Only similarities are that they're both BA, and infantry. Which is I guess a fair amount of similarity. I think a better comparison might be to Spartans.

    Re: covenant odst

I was considering swapping to brute after the patch but no EHG nerf is going to keep me playing prophet, they are awesome to rush against any covenant and hold hooks so well. against UNSC they suck tho.
