BS, quite frankly BS. It doesn't take long to get a game. I do agree the achievement was pretty bad. It did take way too long.

if you are going for general and you don't have brigadier yet, just give up. after MW2, it's going to be very hard to find a game.

 Quite a lot of people on this site are hardcore RTS fans and so would not all go to MW2. Why does everyone think that is the only game coming out...

Oh, please. Why should someone be able to wander over to a title and eat up its gamerscore so easily? The General rank should be difficult to obtain, its an accomplishment to get. Its not a prize for any tourist that wants to suck up the GS and leave. If they want to do that they can go play Avatar.

Oh, please. Why should someone be able to wander over to a title and eat up its gamerscore so easily? The General rank should be difficult to obtain, its an accomplishment to get. Its not a prize for any tourist that wants to suck up the GS and leave. If they want to do that they can go play Avatar.

Perfectly stated.  I don't even think it's that hard to get.  I was a general after the first few months of playing, and if you actually enjoy the game, that's not a long time.  It's based on experience too, you can lose the majority of your games and still get it eventually.  I don't why people complain about this...

this is one of those rants where they just dont know whats going on...i've had my general rank on my IMaHELLofaDRUG account for FOREVER now....because i didnt rush with that account turtled up and WANTED to get points....now that im a general POINTS dont matter and i want wins same way with my second account FATBEACHZRUS im only a two star and still only want WINS and not points......so u cannot measure the amount of generals by the amount of accounts because some people have more than one or other people rented the game for a bit and didnt continue.....BTW if u wanna boost to general real fast....find eachother in 1v1 keepaway get hella point by killing the other players unit and then have him resign and repeat...easy easy.....

to me i think the hardest achievement in the halo universe is overkill on halo 3 because u have to legitamately kill 4 out of the other 5 people in the session.....

It is a hard achievement for a relatively new game (it's only been <6 months since the game came out) take the evidence

• the developer lowered the points requirements for General in a title update a few months after release
• title update also brought a points cap for each game independent of time
  
• the low population in some playlists (lack of new people is not fun)
• it's a grind, not a show of skill
  

This is a blemish on the Halo series when it part of the new Halo Waypoint and Bungie shows how a Halo game can been made that an article like this can be made about just this achievement alone.

true...just look at the games that recently came out...borderlands, tekken, forza, and dj hero......same population on halo wars......so the population will decline for MW2 no doubt about it but maybe not as significantly as everyone thinks

It's actually a really easy achievement. It just takes time, that's all. I'm almost a Brigadier.

The most difficult one seems to be Mr. Punctual. I have not even attempted it yet but I will soon. I need 7 more achievements.

You can with Grifball, so that is super easy and takes some skill on the other hand General means you played a lot (boosting or not). I like the unique skill based achievements imho.

1v1 pops are low so it does take a long time to get a game in some playlists

And you can get achievements from 1v1 - you can earn experience for General for example.
