-huge pre-emptive note to any posts that may pertain to the information I go over in this post-
Please, continue to flame me. It makes me happy that people take a video game so seriously.
Stud and I were never in some giant flame war of the ages. Nor do I hold anything against him, or have I ever. And I'm sure I can say the same for him. I did not go into his party in some zealous attempt to prove my worth on this forum or to gain the respect of forum-goers here.
I went into his party because I wanted to 1v1 for the hell of it and have a nice, fun game. I went Arbiter, which is more or less my leader (I'm just starting on him--so I'm only adeuqate on him). I tried a completely new form of an SG rush to me--and it failed miserably.
It was my first time trying such an SG rush. I figured out it was pretty bad overall, as a whole. Basically the build is Turret - Temple - W - W - W - H, turret in front next to my temple to protect it along with my Hall. Unfortunately, it left me with 50 resources and I needed to collect crates to get my frist WH up after my temple with my ghost.
It was an economy crippling strat to protect my SG's going through--and even then it didn't matter. My SG's completely bugged out in Stud's base. Aside from my initial 2 SG's--the rest of them did not work and he just chopped them away with ease.
Now. I'm not denying that Stud is a good player. He's a great player, in fact, I'll go the lengths to say he's a better player than me. Does that make my claims that people should stop worshipping him here around here like he's iEchoic or something because of his videos false? No.
Not to mention, he was doing a strategy that is near impossible to beat as Covenant, especially Arbiter. Maybe if my SG's worked properly, I could have done a lot better--but here, let me spell it out.
Flamers - Stops Hunters or Jackals to counter Flamers / Hogs
Hogs - Stops Banshees to counter Flamers
Gremlins - Stops Wraiths to counter both.
Quite simply, he could not be beat unless I get him ridiculously early. Which, don't get me wrong, if my SG's didnt freaking bug out I probably could have. Their pathfinding and glitches are astounding beyond reasoning. I could have easily taken out his 2nd barracks, turrets, and his SP's with those SG's if they didn't bug out.
Now. To sum up.
-Stud an I arent in some flame war
-I didn't play him for respect of the forum or to prove my worth or whatever
-I played for fun
-I hardly play. INORITE? I play WoW, Starcraft (more Starcraft than anything), and I've been playing GTA4 (long ass game, seriously) for the past few weeks. So Stud is more seasoned than I am.
-He was using an impossible to beat strat unless I get him early--and if my glitchy ass SG's didnt bug out--It would have gone differently perhaps.
-I was using a strat that left me economically crippled from the beginning that I have NEVER USED BEFORE.
-Stud is a great player; better than me. Go ahead and quote me on that, I'm not afriad to admit when someone is better than me.
However, does him beating me defeat my earlier posts? No. Does him beating me make any of his fanboys who are starting flame wars with me over me giving him my personal criticism more right? No. Does it make their posts less inane? No. It just proves he's better than me; and that he used a really good strat against a strat I've never used before.
He was pretty cool in 2v2's though. We got like, one game and they were against an Anders who went 4 turrets opening (LOL) and a PoR who went Shield Gen like, third I think.
And to Arbiter l337: I never said I'm good. I said I'm average. He's better than me, when do I deny this? I was just playing for fun.
EDIT: GG Stud. You're way better than I thought and you're pretty chill.

How is the General rank fair again?
Halo Fanboys. The next most annoying thing next to Jonas Brothers fanboys.
