True, the only time I ever have luck using them is if I micro the hell out of them. Its sad how you have to have Plasma Mod and Shield of the Forerunners upgrade for them to even become useful.

Well wraiths suck vs vehicles if your opponent is any way decent-their plasma mortar is very easy to dodge. its ironic cos wraiths are supposed to counter hogs

Here is a break down of why I don't understand how Wraiths suck compared to Scorpians(Grizzlies & Spartans not included).

Wraith Cost $350, first upgrade $200, second upgrade $400, third upgrade $700, Shield upgrade $500 = $2150

Scorpians Cost $500, first upgrade $400, second upgrade $900 = $1800

All upgrades including initial cost of unit comes up to more then Scorpians but they still lose in a straight up fight. Even without the shield upgrade there is only a difference of $150. The only way to win a fight is to micro the Wraiths that lose their shields to the back of the pack while trying to use 3-4 tanks to scorch a Scorpian. Doing this constantly takes away from you being able to use your leader powers. While they the UNSC can drop their's quickly and get back into the fight in seconds.

Well sure, Wraiths vs Scorpians. Scorpians are going to take it. same goes for flamers vs beamers, marines vs grunts and so on and so on. The covenant have weaker units and therefore should battle earlier on to prevent the humans from teching up. Wraiths definately have uses they just arent the same as Scorpains.  Although they may seem like the same unit (a tank) they are really quite different

Depends on who they are shooting. If they go for your leader, you don't have to micro your wraiths as much. If they go for your wraiths, try to kite and quick power. If your using PoR, beam works well. BC if enemy tank(s) are low hp(only one needs to be low) and Arby should rage away after canisters are used.

Mainly for Meatshields. Put 3-4 in front of your hunters or jackels for protection. I did kill a full pop of Wolves with them before but not before they killed my base = (

If one Wraith cannot go toe to toe with one Scorpian then the difference is greater when you have 9 vs 9. Hell, you could out number the scorpians by 1-2 wraiths and still lose.

If you micro wraiths, you can take out grizzlies.  I have before and I use wraiths a lot in games.
