    Gameplay = Starcraft??

IF GAMEPLAY IS ANYTHING LIKE STARCRAFT, THEN HALO WARS WILL BE THE BEST GAME EVER MADE!

KNOWING WHAT MAKERS HELPED CREATE HALO WARS GIVES IT A GOOD CHANCE TO BE LIKE THAT TOO.

I CANT TELL YOU HOW EXCITED I AM...

The guys who are making Halo Wars also made Age of Empires, not Starcraft.  Starcraft would be Blizzard's game, not Esemble Studio's.  Sorry about that though, but still, Age of Empires was a good series of games, I even still will sometimes play the first one.

Sorry to burst your bubble man, but it's not going to be like Starcraft. If we wanted to play a game like starcraft, then we'd play starcraft.

I'm sorry but starcraft gameplay is horrible. If you think about it all you do is spam one unit. There isnt really much balance to it at all. Sure it was fun and all, but it got boring fast for me since every game I joined turned into a money making map were everyone spammed zealots if not dragoons, etc. you never saw diversity in the attack. Zerg it was work your way up to guardians and devourers. It basically became an air battle. I hope i pushed balance enough :P BALANCE BALANCE BALANCE.
How many people does it take to tell a person to not judge a game?

StarCraft was one of the most balanced RTS's ever to exist!!  IF someone sent a whole lot of zealots, a whole defense line of siege tanks and bunkers will kill them all.  Send flying units, so many units could destroy them.  If they send guardians, just send Wraiths, or battlecruisers, or even carriers.  It's all rock-paper-scissors.  ^_^

Apparently, you were a noob playing against noobs. In StarCraft, spamming only one unit is perhaps the best way to get your butt kicked. Massed Dragoons would be destroyed by a handful of Ghosts, Siege Tanks, Wraiths, High Templars, Defilers, Zerglings, etc. A smaller army of Dragoons backed up with Zealots, Observers, Scouts, and maybe a Corsair or two would work way better than spammed units, and require much more micromanagement.

Starcraft was the most balanced RTS game ever, and the gameplay of Halo Wars can only aspire to be a fraction as good. All tactics had counters, and those who micromanaged smaller armies would destroy huger armies every time.

    Sincerely, your local StarCraft expert.

Then you should be pretty happy with the game; it's a lot of fun.
Even if a squad of marines out of dozens of units on a battle field has shoulder pads .25" too thick for a fanboy's tastes :)

    Inspires confidence, no?

No, nonononono, you can't say that, if you've played other RTSs like AOE, TA and Myth, you can easily say that Starcraft gameplay is not that good, and personally, it's horrible!

No, it just means you lack the mental capacity to shift gears from one game to the next. Just because you suck at one game doesn't mean you need to say it's horrible. If it was so horrible, then wouldn't mind me asking why thousands of people played it professionally in thousand dollar tournaments.

What you're pretty much saying is the equivilent to "Halo sucks, because if you've played Gears of War, you'll know it's better."

That's a silly argument.  I've played other RTSes like AOE and TA and I can easily say Starcraft gameplay is great.  You're going to have a hard time convincing someone that something they like and enjoy is not really something they like and enjoy.

I don't think you can really compare Halo Wars gameplay to Starcraft because the game experience is still being developed.  As such, it's changing day to day and week to week.  It's fun, and it's getting more so as we go along.

I'll take that as a "Skita, you've been flaming a lot lately, and we've been noticing it. Why don't you try and answer nicely, like what I just did."

    Re: Gameplay = Starcraft??

Starcraft is too fast and requires too much micromanagement to be done with a controller.  Starcraft 2 is on its way.  Let this game do its own thing.

And Thunder, are we going to be told the control scheme for halo wars any time soon?  I would really like to see it...
