Arbiter VS Forge on large maps

    This is another hard matchup.

I think im doing pretty good at it, although I wanted to hear if there is any tips i could use, or anything im missing.

So far, what ive been doing is getting a turret or two up early to avoid the hog rushing. Then I go to their base, and get my first non rage upgrade and chop their buidings up. Try to stop reactors, stop a barracks and stop turrets. I dont upgrade my WH's just yet, until im sure, i save my money for a while incase the hogs come back, then I can rage them. Also, if I allow a turret up I will drop a grunt in to get it down.

On my base I then citidel, Summit and shiled. Drop in Banshees and hope for the best.

This has been working well, I can do some good harassing, but I cant finish them with this attack. Useually 1 arby cant stop 4 turrets going up and one will get up, and before its quite finished anothe is up and then a few marines or some hogs come out. Now I have to use expensive rage and banshees to sotp marines and hogs which doesnt work well. He ends up getting 2+ turrets some hogs and marine/flamer mix and I ehiter lose my Arby, or he is on Red HP.

From here I try my best, ethier go Wraiths, or get some jackals. But its not long before Forge expands, then theres canister tanks, spartans and Gauss hogs at my base follwed swiftly with a D-Bomb.

Ive had a couple wins against some good players. I did just get 1.5 TS when I was level 36, so the ethier guy was atleast decent. I managed to hold off his hogs well, did my banshee things and switched to Wraiths. I saw he xpanded and knew he would so I saved up Rage, got a couple wraith and managed to stop and steal the expansion. But from there it was 15 mns of my trying to break his turtle!

Any tips? And can you review my game?

What if they just get like two turrets up immediately?

    Then a rax?

Forge's eco is so amazing that he can easily catch/pass you if you arn't upgrading your warehouses.

I've had the same problems on my Arbiter only account.

Re: Arbiter VS Forge on large maps

First of all what i would have done is two turrets. with a sp-sp-barracks build as it was release.  The arbitor gets hit hard even by a single turret.  If you did manage to kill one i would have had 5-7 flamers waiting for you to either waste your rage money or get toasted.  Then i would have moved to a tanks/flashbang build assuming you would go hunters.  If I scouted and noticed you didnt get hunters i would still pump out some flashbang flamers as they will come in handy when you do switch :P  @ that point its a counter game of me making the correct counters.  Hunters - flashbang, tanks.  Wraiths = Tanks and spartans/flamers ,  banshees = wolvs/flamers, turrets.

This guy made some huge mistakes.  First off he built his first tank at 7:30.  I would have ATLEAST had 3 -5 at that point. second he built an S*** load of spartans and warthogs which = food for arbitor.  I only build hogs against PoR NEVER EVER EVER against arbitor. (not saying its the best way just saying that i dont, maybe im the newb)

     Those are just my observations.

So no harassing, just expand as early as possible and play it by ear?

So far my only loss has been on tundra to a Forge who turtled.

I think you scout and if they have a rax and atleast 1 turret you don't harass, but you get a high eco to match his, since he is turtling he won't have a second base and your eco will be higher or equal to his.

Now the tricky part, I feel that tech 2 is 1st priority after setting up your eco and then counter war, I'd prolly get some banshees up to keep his expansions down. As long as you keep him on 1 base you will win, So far I have been successful on Pirth by expanding immediately.

Arby has a hard matchup vs everyone, but expanding early is probably a good idea, not sure since praxis like over a month ago beat me on barrens using banshees and that healing spire like candy, but besides that one game i'm 3-1 vs praxis so its a hard matchup for arby.

FJ, I can't believe you played for over a half hour without getting at least Age of Doubt and still won.

    Ha Ha

I had CONSTANT pressure on the guy. I was pumping units constatly, and using Rage so much, that I couldnt afford to do it. His base was on 15% HP for over 4 mins while I was at his base, and I just couldnt finish it. After a while my Arby died, I used the time to build up my expansion a little more, held off an attack, and then relatiated and finished him off. I guess earlier I hould of got my expansion going and just out produced him rather than so much attacking.

    Lesson learnt lol

I was fully aware that EVERYTING VS Arby is hard, thats why I took it. Im jost wondering what the best chance I have is. If you wanna add me so we can scrim later on i would appriciate it.

expand and get a summit and a factory. banshees and locust at tech 2 will stop a forge dead especially with your arbiter

after testing this matchup because its one of those super *** ones your best bet is to force him to out up turrets/barracks and then expand and boom

Volley Wolverines beat both and your Arbiter though.
