    Forge Feeding?

I was just wondering if having forge feed two players in 3v3 is ever a good tactic.

I never thought it was until a recent UA 3v3, we had a forge tribute to my anders and a cutter the entire match and it seemed to make the match a lot easier, it was a lot easier to switch to gremlin counter and pump out units and i feel if forge had boomed canister or massed flamers/marines then it would have been more difficult or we would have lost. Does this ever happen in high level arranged 3v3?

Note: The forge very slowly built and teched grenadier hogs and I was about rank 80 3v3 UA at the time so it was relatively good players.

    Re: Forge Feeding?

Feeding wasn't really invented by Rank One. Pre PoR nerf we used to feed for fun.

I think the only thing Rank One invented was Arby Forge Ander guass banshee feed. That was also around before too however they perfected it.

    Re: Forge Feeding?

So is it pretty standard high level play or just a couple of teams using it? My 3v3 teammates get back next Thursday so we'll have to test it out, after super turtling the early games of course (Haven't played arranged 3v3/2v2 post reset).

Also I guess it's pretty risky doing it in UA as you might run into someone doing the same thing.

Feeding is done on other RTS's, to say Rank One "Invented" it is like saying FJ invented boosting...

    Re: Forge Feeding?

Rank One didnt invent it, and its not a standerd High level tacti, and they are the only ones doing it.

They invented a strat, and part of it is to be feed, but they didnt invent feeding.

i didnt mean they invented the idea of feeding, but i see how it was unclear. what i meant to say was that their strat involves a forge feeding supplies.

also, FJ didnt boost, you are thinking of his buddy Prince.

We did invent the feed build, and how can you say it isn't high level if it was never beaten in a Bo3?

    Re: Forge Feeding?

I have doubts about the strategy itself, it's just when PT Rank One is together any strategy is OP. It also seems a shame to have someone like doped/meat do nothing but feed money. Theoretically Rank One would be just as good with 2 players and a legit recruit as their third.

id assume the forge would have to eventually make units if the game lasted long enough or someone got rushed.

It was actually the reason for the strat, it was created before I joined. The reason for this strats creation was that R1 never had a consistent enough 3rd, when I joined the strat was just so polished and had not really been countered effectively that we kept running it.

Edit: @Ronin the Forge never made units, even when the game went late, because if you think about it, if the game goes late then our units have been dieing and we need to replace them, The Anders and Arby both have weak eco's and the feed is needed to help sustain them.

Forge in team games seems to play a very boring role unless you are the leader of the group.

I mean its not a standerd high level tactic. Your teams the only team doing it, its not a standerd that all 3v3 teasm do a feed, its just yours.

You invented a strat using feeding, you didnt invent feeding.
