    Aiming the MAC

Does anyone think it is pretty silly that whenever you order a MAC your target line shows up to everyone?

I had on numerous occasions the enemy runs away from the target line or they move at the last minute. I know its cool to do it myself but I believe it limits your aim if your the one MAC ing some one.

At least with Forge's boming run you cannot miss and no one knows when its approaching. Ander's Frost ability is also a very fast ability that you cannot miss with. Why can't Captain Cutter's MAC be less obvious. Its very funny when u think about it because the one person who's power is to be pratically a unit Sniper gives aways their position too easily. I mean is it fair enough that it takes time to aim each MAC round?

If they can patch it I believe that they should fix it.

    What are your thoughts?

    Re: Aiming the MAC

I think it is fine. Either select the units faster or try to fool them. Put the curser on them and see what way they are moving then plan accordingly. I like using the laser beam to syke people out. A faster way to call a mac blast is to already have your curser on the unit you want to strike and quickly select mac blast and hit it. Good hunting. = )

True but game mechanics wise it feels more like a bug . I already do use it the way to syke people out I m just saying that it doesn't feel fair to have someone know where your targeting so they have an easier way of avoiding it.

personally i think the MAC is the hardest to dodge >.< carpet bomb + freeze are easy enough but if you aim it right you ALWAYS hit the mark as long as there not moving at that second. Ive dodged more carpet bombs + freezes more then MAC's.

Thats a pity you would be so critical of yourself. Your calling yourself both a nub and tard to even give a care about looking at the stars. No kidding but if your Micro manging it makes you vulnerable.

My carpet bombs always hit their mark. Freezes freeze too quickly but I haved saved some units but the MAC happens within like 3 seconds for the whole firing. Freezing takes I guess 2 seconds. Carpet Bombs are almost instant.

Anyways but I guess it is good point.

The only reason i say Carpets + Freezes are easier is that you can see the plane before it comes :) just gotta be observant so i move my units before the plane throws the bomb however the mac i never know =( one time i got macced so fast i never even saw the line just saw the mac hit me and kill my prophet made me =*(

thats not calling me a nub and a tard, maybe you should think about these things before you post them.

also if you do it quickly then the enemy has no time to run, but if you waste a couple of seconds aiming they see what your doing. common mistake for a nub. the mac needs no changes.

    Re: Aiming the MAC

Yeah your right I did notice the bomber did take a while to deploy the bomb. Maybe I just need to micro manage better and move my army faster.

I have to mention one last thing though if your trying to take on precise targets such as Warthogs, flying units, ODST it is almost ineffective because people like to spread their army out a lot now. So it is harder to target them in time before they see your MAC target laser pointing at them.

Lol yea ODST if they spam can be a lil annoying but thats why i just press A really quick and swirl the mac in there area lol gonna hit most of them =).  And yea micro managing is the key Good luck

Silly? I think you'd just complain about this when your scarab is killed while you're macro managing your base.

I had on numerous occasions the enemy runs away from the target line or they move at the last minute. I know its cool to do it myself but I believe it limits your aim if your the one MAC ing some one.

Do it when they don't expect it. I occasionally send a lone warthog then shoot it at them before an attack.

Trust me, it can be dodged. Those dots of dirt that are kicked up are a dead giveaway if you didn't see the plane. Same with cryo, if you hear the plane and see the bomb dropping then just move you units ASAP. Ive saved an entire pop of vamps this way...

If they can patch it I believe that they should fix it.

    No, they shouldn't.

    What are your thoughts?

Learn to use it wiser, if you can't hit units with it then kill bases with it.  Also learn to figure out where you're shooting and aim there when you prepare to shoot. Just fire as fast as possible and they won't be able to dodge.

Think that new units/leaders/factions are possible or going to be added? Think again, read the linked thread.

    Re: Aiming the MAC

If you put your curser in the right spot you can do it so fast they have a very little chance of running away from it. A fully teched mac is crazy. You can also use the line to scare people away :P.

    Re: Aiming the MAC

MAC has the beam to give it away,

Carpet Bombs have to be dropped by the shortsword set down then wait to explode

Cryo Bombs simply have to dropped

All 3 can easily be avoided if you know how

    Re: Aiming the MAC

If I got a specific target I just quick MAC.  They have little or no time to react.  I really love it though, it's a good fear factor.  I once was in a Cutter 3v3 and we all put up our MAC beams over their army and they just retreated and we exited out; giving us more time to build up a defense and counter for their attack.
