    Does anyone understand this?

From the day Halo came out, until now i still dont understand the purpose of having a novel to turn into a game just so it can go back to a book(graphic novel). Then they extend the game into a whole bunch of sub-halo games

    For Example:

    HALO WARs

    ........Angry irritation

    Re: Does anyone understand this?

Books are a great addition to the Halo world and so will be Halo Wars. It explains side-stories and how and what happened leading up to certain events in the games.

It also helps as a filler, so that Bungie don't have to put everything of the Halo Universe into their games.

Okay.. só you don't like the prospect of Halo wars at all ? Care to tell us why ? and stop posting all those images of halo, it is rather annoying and some computers may have problems handling it. Personally i think it is a great idea.. of course it would have to playablé on the pc as well for me to enjoy it Stick out tongue And it seems a rather natural take to it. Plus Halo was originally thought out as a RTS.

yes this is true  but they dont give you the scenes that the book does ...and that lets me wonder should i even bother with the game cause i enjoyed halo because of the story and that i could role play in it....

The books are by far nearly as good as the games. In a book your imagination can run free and whole, but in the game it's just one straight good plot. I prefer the games to the books because of the graphics and cool scenes and even more revealing data than the books. But the books have lots of good info that runs parallel to Halo 1/2 so in Halo 3, if you haven't read the books, you could miss out on something subtle and big.

As much as I loved the games (I really loved the games) I actually like the story as a whole most of all, it's why I read all 3 novels and why i'm looking forward to the next one.  Also why i'm looking forward to Halo Wars and the "Peter Jackson's secret third title" they're working on.

    Re: Does anyone understand this?

Halo followed the Halo bible and the games featuring Master Chief worked perfect as a FPS.  You didn't need the books to enjoy the games, but they shed so much light on the entire situation, that it just adds to the enjoyment.  For anyone who has followed the books, they know there are many more Spartans fighting other battles.  This game, and hopefully future renditions, will fit those scenarios and give us a chance to see the big picture.

I can't wait for this as well as H3.  That and the next book from Eric Wink

Doctor Halsley might be doing it for a better reason, possibly the Spartan IIIs and their training. CPOMZ could mean CPO Mendez afterall, and he is the best person to train a new batch of Spartans. You'd also need an already fully grown and trained Spartan to help out, maybe as inspiration.

It's called selling out and getting the most money out of a franchise before you ditch it
