    banshee/Dual odst rush

well, recently i discovered a new tactic, and it goes sumething like this

     Covie(any) / Cutter / Cutter

Covie build order: Warehouse, Warehouse ,Templed, Warehouse, Blessed warehouses, Summit, banshee spam

Unsc; SP SP reactor Heavy spx2 (upgrade) Barracks, Sp, Sp Heavy spx2(upgrade) reactor

both cutters should have odst by about 6.20 (if they collect crates permanently) and they should make 12 squads each (in this time 10 should be ready for drops too)

now, the Covie player boosts al his banshees to the back of *player*'s base, and both cutters send 2 pelican loads to the back... then the banshees boostback round to the front, and both cutters drop 10 odst's from the front.

if done correctly, the banshees/odst's at the front should be able to hold off(not kill in most cases) the armies of the three players, while the 24 odsts at the back get free reign to do as they wish to the base :D

me and some friends are 11-3 wins-losses with this tactic... and we are 2 majors and a captain :D

A good rush would rape this strat. An arbiter at oine of those bases w/ suicide grunts would also rape this.

    Re: banshee/Dual odst rush

As long as you don't get rushed, this could be a decent strategy, but just so you know, it's not a rush if it involves a super unit. A rush happens in the first 6 minutes of the game.

    Re: banshee/Dual odst rush

if you get rushed, or attacked before 8mins, you lose

    mass jackels beats this

    tank/Wolverines beats this

ODST so early is pointless, you wont have enough quick enough

Make tanks with cutter before you get ODST, and this would be a better strat

You better pray your enemy doesn't know the following things:

    Scouting, Jackals, Rushing, common sense.

If they lack those, your "not really a rush rush" will work.

Besides the fact you would get trampled by a rush...

Gauss and Tanks would own you.

Tanks and Wolvs would own you.

Massed air would even own you.

    Re: banshee/Dual odst rush

I used to do a similar a very similar tactic, but with only a single cutter. Doesn't work well on exile, but on Frozen Valley or Fort Deen you can land behind their base where only a few ground units can get to at a time. Because of the choke-points, you're pretty much guarenteed a base kill before they can take out all your ODSTs. Worst case scenario you'll need to drop a MAC to finish it off. It's much more effective since your other teammates can do pretty much anything they want, include attack a second base while you're distracting them.

The main reason I stopped using that tactics is because it's very rush-prone (this strategy is not a rush) and it's not the most flexible of strategies - you can't react to the enemy actions and change strategies very quickly, since all you have are infantry.

Below 3 minutes is a traditional rush.
