My story ideas. Note, I will not be halting any other of my FF's, don't worry. This story sets place in a fantasy world, ridden with war and blood-shed. Three rival Kingdoms, so caught up in killing each other, they neglect to notice the stirrings of evil in the South...
The Co-alition of Races
The Co-alition holds a number of races. They are a small Kingdom, and hold a portion of the North. They are at war with the two Empires.
1. Orcs- The Orcs were discovered when the Co-alition laid claim to a section of forest. The Orcs suddenly came out and attacked any of the settlers tryin to make their way into, or near the forest. The Fauns, being a mostly peaceful race, sent in their Dwarves to fight this new menace. The Orcs proved resolute and slaughtered anything the Co-alition could throw at them. The Co-alition made a compromise with the Orcs, and the Orcs would have their forest all to themselves if they would fight for the Co-alition, proving to be the ultimate fighters, Orcs are second to none and are arguably the best fighting force in the continent.
2. Dwarves- The Dwarves were neighbours to the Fauns. During the plague that ravaged both the Dwarven and Faun lands, they agreed to supply each other with supplies critical to surviving. A very strong alliance was made, with the Dwarves, masters of forging and farming, supplying much needed food and builiding supplies. While the Fauns, the masters of healing and medicine, helped out the Dwarven sick with special cures. Ater a while, they had no need for any supplies, and the trade was ended. But the alliance was not. During furious in-fighting with the Fauns, the Dwarves lent their arms to the Faun Kings cause. They smashed the Faun rebels together. And from this, the Co-alition was formed. The Dwarves now occupy a vast swathe of land in which their master forges continue to produce the best weaponry in the world.
3. Goblins- Goblins are the newest addition to the Co-alition and don't fully believe in its cause or trust its people. The Goblins though, still fight like things possessed. Critical for their fighting skills, they are the backbone of a Co-alition army. Never retreating, and fighting to the last, the Goblins are good fighters in that their ancient religion states that they can't dishonour their Gods in battle, and must suffer eternal damnation in Hell otherwise. Needless to say, they believe it and continue to fight with amazing amounts of strength and dexterity even in these troubled times.
4. Fauns- The Fauns are the healers and the farmers of the Co-alition. They do not do well in war, but they can fight if the moment demands it. They prefer to help people and have become masters of medicine. There isn't a wound in the world that Fauns cannot heal and thus, they are crucial to a war effort. Large scores of them trail armies and set up medical camps behind their army. They will send out healers to drag in any wounded they can find, both their side and the enemy. One of the two Kings of the great city of Metrostix is a Faun.
5. Centaurs- The Centaurs are the smartest race in the Co-alition by far. They are wise and hold equal amounts of intelligence and spirituality. They follow their religion strictly, but have an undying loyalty to the Co-alition. The Centaurs are useful, as they are a Cavalry force, but also Infantry. Very useful in a fight, they weild mostly Greatswords and Butterfly Axes. They do not wear any kind of armour, believing it to be dishonourable, but they fight just as well without it.
6. Brownies- The Brownies were discovered far North. The Co-alition saw them as pathetic creatures and didn't see a place for them in the Co-alition. An excuse was made, and war came to the Brownies. Legend has it, that the Co-alition army all scattered and ran at the sight of the Brownies riding Dragons! The Co-alition were shocked at how they were doing it. So, they bought off the Brownies, which helped them out an awful lot. The Brownies were in a lot of squalor and poverty, and the payments from the Co-alition was enough for them to bring their Kingdom back to greatness. They began trading with the Co-alition to gain more money and valuable from the South. After a while, it blossomed into an Alliance, and they soon agreed to join the Co-alition. The Brownies are the only known peoples to have tamed the Dragons and tey never ight on the ground. The Dragons are so numerous in the Brownie lands that all Brownie warriors ride the Dragons. Many battles have been won thanks to this amazing bond of rider and mount.
Empire of Verudian
The Empire of Verudian was made with the interest of profit and land. They are greedy and they know it. The Gnomes and Trolls had no choice n joining the Empire. It was either that, or die.
1. Elves- The Elves used to be solitary. Staying in their woodlands and rarely leaving it. Until the sighting of the Humans. The Humans marched into the woods and began harvesting its resources. Needless to say, the Fairies attacked them, as well as the Elves. The Humans were frightened by these things and began burning as much as they could of the woods. The Elves were furious. They did something they had not done for hundreds of years. They went to war. It was vicious for both sides and the Elves seemed to be winning. Until a great plague struck their woods. And the Humans pushed them all the way back into their land. The Humans caught the plague too, and were almost wiped out by it, as they were unprepared. The Elves took pity on them, and took them into their land to help them, despite the feud between the two races, they managed to live in harmony while the Elves were adept at curing the plague and the Humans flourished in a new land. The Kingdom of Verudian was made.
2. Humans- The Humans are the backbone of Imperial armies. Fighting with a fanatical devotion, and they are also the builders and workers of the Empire. The Humans are a race neither peaceful nor warring. They are inbetween and they have contempt for all races besides the Elves. Everything else is an abomination in their eyes. If the Humans had their way, the other races in the Empire would be extinct, such is thier hate. A hate so strong, it bears them to believe in a Heathen God who shares all their beliefs.
3. Gnomes- The Gnomes had little choice in the matter of joining the Empire. The Empire had pillaged their lands, looted their gold mines, and killed their monarchy. What else could they do? The Gnomes are now used as the slaves of the Empire. And can often be seen being abused by one of their owners. The Gnomes are suffering under the greed of the Empire. And the Gnomes may not be as meek as they first appear.
4. Trolls- The Trolls dwelled in caves around the Esthin river. They were driven out by a huge civil war which tore their civilisation apart. They were on the move for a new homeland, when they were attacked. The Empire did their best to humiliate the poor creatures and killed their women and children in public. But it wasn't seen as barbaric. It was a noble deed to the savage Empire. The Trolls, despite being excellent fighters, were no match and were forced into fighting for the Empire. They wield a variety of weapons but favour a club above all. They fight well in battle and they are greatly rewarded and so they do fight like they mean it. Although, given a chance, they would leave the terror of the Empire behind.
5. Ogres- The Ogres are wild creatures. The Empire captures them and forces them to fight. They are kept in cages and they have no loyalty. They are starved and beaten, and taught to fear the Empire. And in battle, they are released to wreak havoc on the enemy. The beasts are feared for their berserk rage and a tendency to bite peoples heads off.
Empire of Ice
The Empire of Ice was created for a noble cause. But, they were captured by greed, like all mortals. Their intention was protecting the Western shores from attack by a religious sect of creatures known only as the Retribution.
1. Vampires- The Vampires have a history of success. The first war they ever had with the Empire of Ice, they won. And the next. And the next. Until the Empire had to resort to paying the Vampires for soldiers. Vampires are exclusively mercenaries for the Empire and have no other ties. They are second only to Orcs in fighting skill. They use daggers and short swords. Preferring to dual wield these weapons, they can cut through swathes of enemies without breaking a sweat. Truly soldiers to be feared.
2. Cyclops- The Cyclops' were living in relative happiness when they were approaced by the Kobold emissaries. The Kobolds asked for Cyclops help in defending their coastline from tenacious Pirates. The Cyclops' agreed and sent help. The Pirates were destroyed and the two races lived happily again. The Cyclops offered the Kobolds a merge. he Kobolds accepted and the two Kingdoms became one. However, the new Empire was split in two pieces. The Kobold half, and the Cyclops half were seperated by a great forest. And the Empire set out to conquer the forest and unite themselves. But the Vampires in there proved tough and the Cyclops, althouh large and deadly, were no match against the agility and cunning of the Vampires. The Cyclops wreak havoc on a battlefield by using their powerful build and huge muscles to kill enemies with relative ease.
3. Kobolds- The Kobolds appear weak and frail at first glance, and may be mistook for a starving child. But that is far from the truth. They can run faster than any biped and weild a Scimitar with deadly efficiency. The Kobolds have always been alert for war, as looking so fragile, they have often been singled out for invasion. The Kobolds are short and wear large amounts of armour to protect themselves, as they may be strong, but they die rather easily. They make a large portion of the Empires armed forces.
4. Mer-people- The Mer-people are very mysterious. And stay in their underwater cities. The other races of the Empire have never seen a Mer city and are curious as to how they live. The Mer-people are a great addition to the Empires Navy and can swin underneath enemy ships and tear apart the hull. The Mer-people can't communicate with the other races and they never officially joined the Empire. But they have been helping them for as long as the Empire can remember, and the Mer-people are said to be in the Empire, but they don't even know it. The Mer-people are taught to recognise the wood the Empire ships are made of and never attack them.
The Scourge
They come from places unknown and have unknown intentions. But from what everyone can gather, they are pure evil.
1. Werewolves- The Werewoles take the form of Humans. In this way, they are perfectly suited to infiltrate the Verudian Empire. They are able to transform at will into a wicked beast. A monstrous form of wolf, tall as an Ogre and even more dangerous. While in their demonic form, they still retain Human intelligence. Able to talk and comply wih orders, they are a vital group to the Scourge.
2. Gargoyles- The Gargoyles have always been in the Scourge. For as long as legends tell. They lift their victims high in the air, tearing them apart with their talons. They will drop down on unsuspecting soldiers to feast on them, you are never safe with these things in the skies. Not much is known about them, other than they kill without discrimination.
3. Demons- The Demons are the creatures of Hell. They love nothing more than to torture and maim. They will try and wound as many as they can in a battle just for a chance of having fun with them later. They use their claws to tear apart anyone foolish enough to stand in their way.
4. Sluagh- The nightmares of creatures, manifest themselves into Sluagh. Any monster thought up in a nightmare becomes a Sluagh if manifested strongly enough.
