Right, This was my game.

I had 3 Grizzleys all high star.

1st = 13 stars

2nd= 10 stars

3rd = 9 stars

 

My teamates and I found ourselvs in a battle that would decide the game. The final battle.

The enemys force consisted of (Estimate)

1 Scarab

30 Engenieers

15 Jackles

6 Hunters

15 vampires

20 grunts

10 ODST's

2 Vultures

 

As the battle raged on one of my team mates was defeated, then another.

It was just me left.

At this point i faced around:

1 Scarab

10 Jackles

3 Hunters

20 Engenieers

5 Grunts

 

This is the point that i thought i must make my supprise attack.

I launched 8 Wolverines from the southern flank to volly the scarab then attach the hunters whilst my 3 Grizzleys attacked from the east. (The stars were as shown near top of post)

 

My Grizzleys would attract the fire and wolvs would tear appart the scarab.

 

But i got torn appart.

My grizzleys destroyed.

Everything gone.

what happened, read your post back to me, you should have had your whole army with you to back up the tanks, 30 engineers hesalign anything isnt gonig to go down easy, you should have had the woves with you the whole time volley the scarab and ownt eh egineers and the tanks casnister on eaach hunter squad for maximum damage. The rest would have just been left up to micro abilitys

But if i had my wolvs with my grizzleys then they would have got attack becuase all fire was concentrated on the grizzleys.

ya the fire power wouldave been mroe spread out and the enemy didnt have much air you needed the grizzlies more than the wolves so if they wolves die so what, you gonna volley the hunters to death or canister and kite them to death faster with grizzlies

hey shoot me a F/R I saw your post abourt whe you faced me and I remebr that name because I thought it was funny. Anyway I wanted to face you guys but I couldnt because I had to go eat and I was just wondering if maybe you wanted to face each other in a real match

Studmuffin is right. Spliting your forces against a group with engineers isn't going to work. And why does it matter if your wolves die? If this is your "final assault" then you should be doing everything you can - including use troops as meat shields. The enemy forces are down to what you said, then your wolverines are only effective against the engineers. Volley something and shoot the engineers out of the sky. They're then useless - so why not have a bunch of meat-shields? You would have won if you'd moved the wolverines in with the grizzlies right behind them.

Well, the crizzleys were the meat shields as they had higher health.

Point is that they shouldn't have been. All the enemy firepower was land based, so you should have been concentrating on protecting your anti-ground. Wolverines are cheap and build quickly, so they don't really need meat shields, especially when you're fighting mostly ground troops, while grizzlies, specifically high-star ones take quite a while to produce. Losing you wolverines means you're open to air attack for just a short while after the attack (which wouldn't be very powerful since they'd need to rebuild and wouldn't be able to get many out in that window) while losing your 3 grizzlies means losing all your firepower against 2/3s of the units in the game. What I'm trying to say is this: your grizzlies are more important and need meat shields even though they have more life. This is the same reason most people don't know how to use scarabs - they think the scarabs don't need protection when they actually need the most protection. Treat high-star grizzlies the same way - they're gonna be priority targets to begin with.

Wolverines are not going to take down a scarab with 20 engineers on it. It's just not going to happen. The volley ability is too slow to recharge.

You didn't mention a leader or use of leader powers.

you could have used you anti air to kill air units and stop them from insta healing then you can easily win.

i agree, even if you had the wolves behind the grizzlies the grizzlies would have been takin out by the scarab. not to mention some hunters would put up a good fight too even if there are only 2 of them.  And if the scarab was in the battle between your other teamates im going to go ahead and assume the scarab had at least a star along with the hunters.
