    Units won't obey my orders?

Does anyone else get this problem? I was playing a 1v1 and Guass spamming this guy and all was going well, except for the fact that this Large RG turret was ripping up my hogs, and I ordered everything to attack that turret...except they didn't. They just continued to blissfully attack this unupgraded reactor, with no intention of ever attacking that turret.

Its unreal how many times I must have mashed LB and to no avail. I was going insane from that "All Units" guy never shutting up. Eventually I just gave up and had them attack the regular base. But my God this is an annoying...bug? It happened in the campaign every now and then too, and it still makes me FFFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUU because I have no control over my army. Which defeats the purpose of playing an rts.

Is there a work around to this?

the AI is notg human and cant know exactly what you want it to do, you flared the base area and so attacked the base. It did what you wanted really

No...I was playing a 1v1 Matchmade game and I literally told MY units to attack the turret. I meant A.I. as my units.

ohhhh, units dont respond if they cant easily access a set target, like with warthogs if you have to many the back ones cant reach and go around and own the supplie pads instead

Re: A.I. won't obey my orders?

Oh ok thanks. I just thought after the 15th LB+X spam they might get the message and figure out I want that turret dead, so they would use their little noggins and go around the base and kill that turret instead of killing some meaningless reactor lol. I guess its okay though, I ended up winning =/

Re: A.I. won't obey my orders?

NEVER spam the x command, wether it be a turret or unit, if you do the units take second to respond and and then attack so when you do that they take longetr to fire and longer to kill things and sounds annoying as well

    Happening to me also

i had my chieftain and a brute trying to get into a reactor on blood river before the enemy. Brute stands there shooting him even though i kept telling him to go to the reactor. Happening A LOT with covenant leaders too

Re: Units won't obey my orders?

I have that problem. if i'm trying to tell my units to move they will just stay there. or in some cases i've ordered them to move across the map to get them out of danger and heal them and then all of a sudden they start running back to attack without getting the order to during the time i'm spending getting power set up. the only way i've found to fix it is to just spam the move command to get them to stop going back to their previous order.

i havent rly had this issue before maybe once or twice but because i was frozen vally with a prophet behind the base and my tanks are trying to go behind the base to get in range which i may add is annoying but hey its a small gap so im very understanding when i lose my base 0_0

i know exactly what you mean, it annoys me because i watch Flow Chaze and iEchoics videos and they tap the "x" button once and everything runs smoothly the command executes and everything is fine, doesnt happen for me. Im beginning to think that every Halo Xbox game americans develop they handicap the british. I watch many videos of halo 3 games and theres no doubt that americans move alot faster and swap weapons more quickly than the british with exactly the same mlg settings and controller sensitivity, and the video is at normal frame rate and hasnt been speeded up at all. I timed an american runnning from blue flag to red flag on The Pit and he done it about 5 seconds faster taking the exact same route, i mean EXACT. Its a massive game changing handicap. I have no explanation, it cant be xboxlive lag i just cant put my finger on it. Many british players refuse to play matchmaking in Halo 3 and just play European customs, as there are so many complaints about it, its unreal. The real good British players are fine because they pull host alot, so even if they are handicapped on speed the power of their BR makes up for it.

I mean lets face it, last year the British Team Birmingham Salvo which included my cousin Dean "iPicaso" Sutton (Forza 2) went to Vegas and won the $500,000 CGS World Championship Gaming Series "ON LAN" raping the americans in 6 different games. Thats because it was all over LAN, im sure it would have been a different story if it was held over Xbox Live.

Re: A.I. won't obey my orders?

My units occassionally ignore my orders as well.  Most of the time, it's when I tell them to go to a certain point... even when I continually command them to move, they stay where they are and shoot at whatever has their attention.

Re: Units won't obey my orders?

Its not xbox live its that the servers are based in america or watever so the time it takes for the signal to go from your controller-ur xbox-ur internet-the server and then reroute it to everyother person in the game makes a considerable lag time if you watch it as it builds up. So if u spam the X button you just end up shoving the same signal into the modem while its still transfering. Even if it doesn't show up as lag it can be just that slight 000.01 difference that builds up over time to make a 5 second run difference for example.

Also if you spam the x button you cancel out the last action so ultimately your just telling the warthogs to go to one place, then cancel their action, then go to the same place, cancel and repeat over and over so they just start moving, stop, start moving, then stop. After about 4 times of this it ignores you so dont bother spamming over 4 times within the same minute.

this is a simple error in the game and it is due to the fact that Jesus hates you. why this is I cannot say but it must be something trivial and unimportant because It does not seem like a big issue that your internet copy and pasted strategy did not work for one tiny game becasue one tiny issue.

my solution to solve this problem is to kill yourself in dishonor because you have failed in the lines of battle by losing one tiny game and bitching about it on the forums!

completely wrong, to have a slight lag difference even if it was for example a 0.01 second difference it would mean the run from red flag to blue flag would have to take over 8 minutes 33 seconds to have a 5 second difference, have you ever played Halo 3 on The Pit?. That isnt the answer. Besides there are European xbox live servers too. Now with regards to the weapon swap, an american can no scope a british once, whilst the british player is four shotting the american, but before the british can even get his fourth shot out for the finish, the american would have swapped to his BR and finished the british. If a British person no scopes an american and tries to swap to his BR for a one shot finish his weapon would still be swapping by the time they have a four shot kill on you. So Americans either swap weapons more quickly or delays between BR bursts are shorter.
