    Suicide Grunt spam the new guass? :(

    while playing 1v1/2v2 games as covi ive been noticing the increase in people playing arbiter and just spamming suicide grunts (locking up 10-15) and then just wiping out my base, yup the whole base including shield in about 30seconds with grunts :(

    Now i know this dosent work half aswell against UNSC due to the base defense bonus (white blocks above base for having buildings on pads) but since covi dosent hae this bonus bases just die in seconds .. was wondering if anyone knew a decent stop to this as you cant really hassle the arbiter early game to slow him down as covi nor can you turret as they are useless vs mass grunts jackals seem to help but rage just takes them all out .. leaving me no money for beam :D yay ...

    any ideas/thoughts/solutions this is cheap and old now

    Put some bugs in suicide grunt pathfinding in the next TU.

    Yeah, it happens.  Best thing to do is to rush the Arbiter's base, get a shield early and rush him with prophet or upgraded brute, or guard his teleporter with your leader or whatever you have.

    Also, it's not even suicide grunt spam.  Only 6 grunts take out a keep.  I think 10 take out a citadel.

    Hasnt happened to me yet but I guess build WH Shield WH Temple? Maybe.... idk lol
    First day the game came out, I built a well trained marine squad that took $100 just to be prepared. A cripple in a chair floats at me and I laugh as i send my squad. 2 seconds later im in the corner of my room crying.

    Tried doing that aswell works vs the bad players but the experienced ones just lock +recall and rage my prophet enough to make me recall myself ;*(

    and the reason i stated spam is even if you manage to start killing them off they build very fast and cost 160 so in effect you can spam them stupidly quick

    like joe said, even with a shield it takes like 4-5 grunts to remove the shield if not less then 5-6 to kill your base, thats 11 grunts at 160 each dosent take long to get that with WH + gathered crates

    If they rage, they waste a lot of money, 40 per hit to be exact plus running fees, and you can let them waste more money than you do by recalling, get your shield and get defenses up.  If you leader rush them at the very beginning, they can't really make any more buildings or grunts for that matter.  

    I just played a 2v2 in which I rushed this arbiter's base with upgraded Brute hammer before he got his 4th building up.  If he was doing suicide grunts, I could have just camped his base at the front.  It takes very long to kill the Brute by melee or rage.  Prophet dies too quickly.  If you have reflect on your arbiter it could be a good idea to attack his base.

    It takes 6 for a shield, 6 for a keep, and 10-12 for a citadel.

    It only takes 20 fully upgraded ones to take out a maxed UNSC base. I use this a lot in 3v3 to break stalemates.

    Please don't compare the 2 as the strategies are completely different.

    1 is make enough units to overwhelm the enemy.

    The other is do enough building damage to destroy enemy economy.

    You can figure out which is which.

    This would be a good build, but you need a temple to build a sheild so that won't work

    I like to suicide grunt spam :) "GO BOOM"

    What happens if he wastes, i believe its 4-6 suicide grunts to kill your leader?

    terrets kinda stop this, they kill somwe grunts before they explode and if you have warthogs ram the grunts, it will glitch them and harm them so even if they do blow up it's for less damage, plus upgrading to citidel gives covie bases mroe health
