    Halo Fan Fiction Contest

    Writing Contest

Basis:Write a story based in the Halo Universe.

    Rules:

  • Story may be any length, but preferred maximum for Judges will be 20 pages.
  • All entries must be typed in size 12 font, with either Times New Roman or Courier New.  If any other font/size is turned in without my permission, it will be deleted.
  • A Deadline will be posted at further notice
  • Entries should be titled:  "
  • [Your Username]HaloFanFic*  and e-mailed to AvidWriter117@yahoo.com at any time up to the deadline.
  • Entries may be previous works.  In other words, your entry does not have to be made specifically for this contest.
  • Keep it relatively clean.  Yes, Halo is a M-rated game, however let's try to keep the violence and gore to a PG-13 rating.  If you're not sure about it, contact me at AvidWriter117@yahoo.com
  • We will be judging grammar lightly.  Fan fic contests are about telling the best story in the best way.  We'll leave the rough judgement for school. :p
  • You do not have to follow any specific timeline, nor do you have to use the main characters.

    Plot Suggestions:
  • Stories may be humorous or serious, but 'love scenes' are not recommended unless necessary to the plot of the story.
  • Crossovers Are allowed.  This may be for humorous or serious purposes, ie: MC having a duel with Darth Vader.  This of course would be humorous, for it would not be...very good as a serious plot.
  • Important Canon may only be changed if a story is humorous, though this isn't recommended.
  • The Deadline will be announced at a further time, though not too far away.  It is suggested that entries are started ASAP, so no one complains about not having enough time.

    Judging:
  • Judges are chosen by how involved they are with multiple forums.  This will help to organize the entries and to make sure that stories and plots are not stolen from other people.  Judges will also be chosen by their skill and understanding of writing.

  • If you would like to judge in this contest, contact me , AvidWriter

    Judging Categories:
    Character Building-40 pts
    Correct Canon Data-20 pts
    Creativity-40pts.

Prizes will be added at further notice.
This contest is with conjunction with the HaloWars Heaven Forum at heaven games.  All prizes issued are done through them(if any).

    Re: Halo Fan Fiction Contest

Judges are going to be from the HaloWars Heaven forum, since that is who is hosting this contest.  I would suggest everyone register there.  It is a great forum, and it is the first place that news will be posted about the contest.

    Re: Halo Fan Fiction Contest

    <><>Of course.
Titles and stuff may be different fonts, but of course dont write the whole thing in Halo.  it would be Uber hard to read...

    Re: Halo Fan Fiction Contest

@Dud: Well...hmmm.  Of course youre allowed to, but i would suggest you write as much as you can, and submit that.  Only because i dont htink you can completely develop character traits in 2 chapters.  The page 'limit' pretty much doesnt mean anything.  You guys can enter a short story, or even a full fledged novel.

@comando: Of course.  Just make sure to tell me which copy you are officially submitting when your done.

Remember, all, that the deadline is going to be in...a long time.
