    How resigning could be fixed

Well some people like to steal points by resigning instead of self-destructing.  There are many fixes that this could have.  If you resign more than twice a day you get a penalty.  If you have bad connection, don't ruin it for other people.  I know Halo 3 is not an rts, but when you resign you lose exp and if you resign a lot you get banned.  This is how I wish Halo Wars would run.  This is the only way I could see it get around boosting.  Halo 3 might be fps, but this game could run off the same system.  In 3v3 or 2v2, only the first person to resign gets a penalty.  I already know if you flame this you are one of the people resigning and we will look down on you.  All you have to do is self-destruct, but no you want to deprive points.
I got Halo Wars the day it came out. I have flaming warthog and honor guard wraith. I even have the general rank and all the achievements. No one can beat that.

There are atleast 100 threads of this with this ideas. And you are saying that if someone has a very bad connection don't play. It isn't any fair that someone paid for the xbox live and for halo wars and can't play matchmaking

Agreed. There needs to be some sort of penalty for resigners. At the VERY LEAST don't give them their points from that game. A point deduction for people who resign multiple times seems fair though.

Enter resigning thread #47,593; This time by FROZENSWORD. Everyone congratulate him on his post!

BTW, in Halo 3, resigning a lot does NOT get you banned. I had poop connection and got Dc'd roughly 3 out of 5 games and I can still play. BTW, you're not losing THOUSANDS of points from people who resign. I've played entire games where I went and destroyed their base, and ended up with an 8.40x and still got less than 2000 points. It's not because I suck, it was because the base is not worth nearly as much as a bunch of units.

If you punish those who resign games will last forever and a day longer (for most) and in the long run, you'll get less points. :) Congrats.

sigh... we are still talking about points...

I wish they had a way you can GIVE people your points... I would give all the points I have to you people in an effort to get you to that stupid General rank you're all dying to get faster. Maybe then these threads quit just like most of you will after you get the dumb thing.

We shouldn't be punished for other people's bad connection.  Like in storms, I have bad connection so in that time I play offline.  They also don't have to pay for Xbox live that is their decision.  A lot of times people with bad connection get banned anyway because they get so much bad rep for quiting.  Yeah that happened to my friend, and I kept telling him to not play online.  He wouldn't listen.  Also I used search bar and nobody had a post exactly like this.

Re: How resigning could be fixed

All the other post were just complaining mostly about resignation, and this one actually gives a way to stop it reasonably.

Just award points in the same way as self-destructing gives point.

You can't get banned for having bad rep.

Right, not exactly like this, they had a different word order in their body. People getting banned because they quit is because they have sore people on their teams or opponents who typically report them for other offenses.

Quitting a game is not a bannable offense.

Your complaint can be analogous to running a marathon (26 kilos) in which you aren't completely prepared for and, besides for the feeling of completion, in which there is no reason to complete it if someone wins 30 minutes before you, so once the first 100 people finish, you give up. And, upon giving up, because the winner didn't get to "beat you because you quit," your legs get shot off.

    Makes sense.

This would work perfectly, why didn't Robot add this?

But there the winner will still get his prize money, if the guy doesn't finish. Imagine if in that race the winner didn't get his money just because the guy in the back didn't feel like finishing the race?

    There, add that to it.

Question, what do points get you? Pizza party? Money?

Answer: An achievement. One that you'll get eventually. Why rush it?!

The sooner I get the achievement, the more time I can spend playing other games.

Re: How resigning could be fixed

Oh, so you aren't having fun with the game? Then give up. It seems to me that you aren't playing to have fun, you're playing for an achievement. Buy a sports game, that's an easy 1000.
