    locust population

    I have a question about the locust, y is the pop. 3?  Their counter part is the cobra, and that is 2. I know they both have different purposes, but they work the same same way, a support unit, right? I just want to know plz??

    Their counter part isn't Cobra. Locusts are a unique kind of unit on their own, maybe more comparable to Vulture barrage or Cyclops in terms of base destruction.

    Locusts are a soft counter to vehicles, Cobras are a hard counter.

    Locusts have overdrive, and with that 10 of them will take down a base in like 8 seconds. 10 cobras with take twice as long, maybe more to take down a base.

    They are 2 different units. Plus Covi have +10 population on UNSC, so it's acceptable the Locust is 3 pop. If it was 2 pop the Locust spam would become more of a game menice than the hogs have been.

    But they cost more teck then hogs and are VERY slow and hogs last time i checked are fast....

    OKay... locusts are 3 pop. cause they are uber against vehicles and buildings, from long range. I think cobras and wolves should actually be 275 due to low pwr.

    ....Hogs are Scout vehicles.  They aren't supposed to be slugs.

    Locusts are not meant to take out units of any kind (generally).  They are there to take out buildings, that's it.  They are a building killer.  That's all they can do really effectively, and it would be incredibly cheap if you've ever seen massed Locusts to have 25 of them.  3 pop is fine, you should only have 3-4 in any good army anyways.

    I don't normally use locusts, but I have studied their use through allies and through enemies.

    If you think about it, most building are worth more than what they build, and if you take out those buildings, not only can the enemy not produce those units, but he/she just lost out on resources.

    The ability to level citadels and fortresses to the ground is highly prized, and to do it from long range it a bit OP. Cobras kill vehciles temporarly. Locusts seal off the entrance vehciles, infantry and air units come through into the virtual world. Make you judgement now, my freinds, and what is more of a high priorty target: the unit, or the units mother?

    I guess it's a good thing no one cares what you think, they are fine with the costs they are at now and they sucka aginst vehicles, they are good for taking out pesky turrets from long range and that's it.

    7 Locusts can unleash more building damage with overdrive than a Scarab and are cheaper for a similar population.   7 locusts leaves you with 29 population worth to defend them, the 3 population isn't really an issue with the covenant's greater pop cap.
