    Scarab Idea

How about if the scarab was a final upgrade for the locust? I'm not saying this needs to happen its just an idea. Overdrive could be some area of effect attack on ground units and the shield could just be a little more armor.

    No flaming please.

    Re: Scarab Idea

    Would NOT work.

Remember how a scorpion costs 500, same as it's upgrade the Grizzly ?

That means Scarabs would cost 350 at tier 2 and take up 3 pop.

    BAD IDEA

    Re: Scarab Idea

Have some common sense. The scarab wouldn't be 350 and 3 population. It would stay the same price and pop as the scarab we have now

    Re: Scarab Idea

I like the idea of the area of effect overdrive, I'm a bit unsure of the shield, as I personally don't use locusts that often.

The scarab as a final upgrade would be problematic though, since usually upgrading a unit affects all the units you current

have on the battlefield, and the last thing I want to see is a field of scarabs heading my way.

     still, good food for thought.

A unit stays the same pop and price whether it's upgraded or not.

    Hornets (tier 2) - 250 - upgrade - Hawk (tier 2) - 250

    Scorpion (tier 2) - 500 - upgrade - Grizzly (tier 2) - 500

Even though the uniits get more advanced and more  deadly, they stay the same price / tier level as before. So what you're saying is:

    Locust (tier 2) - 350 - upgrade - Scarab (tier 2) - 350

No offense, but, I really can't make it much clearer...

    Re: Scarab Idea

Maybe the locust would still be available but then the scarab would become available on the main base.

    Re: Scarab Idea

that's basically as it is now then, except you have to fully upgrade the locust in order to access to scarab,

which would make it even harder to acquire one.

scarabs may be scary looking, but I don't think they are that powerful that they should have an

    extra requirement tacked on.

How about an upgrade that puts a locust beam cannon in the openings on the side of the Scarab ?

    To balance: No Overdrive.

    Re: Scarab Idea

Dont like the idea. I personally do not see the point of this, how would this help or change anything? Like what is the purpose of your suggestion?

So once you upgrade to a scarab you can not go back to locusts. So now every time you want a building killer you need to give 20 pop and 3000 resources up?!

Come on man once you think this through it does not help anything.

stealths. like I just do not understand how this will help the scarab.

Like damage wise the scarab is fine, defense wise I do not see it viable. By the time you are able to get a scarab the other team can easily have a super unit army or assault beam hunters. All which pretty much hard counter the scarab. All the scarab needs is some more HP. A small increase in health would really help

Actually, an army of 30 or so Scarabs would be devastating.  O_o  IF they ever found a good spot to fire instead of acting like a ballerina dancer on crack...  -_-
