    tu#3 recycling question

hey if this has already been asked then apologies, was wondering if anyone knew about the title update, it says now that recycling/self-destructing buildings will give points to your opponent. was wondering if anyone knew, will they get points for your recycling even if they are not attacking your base? or do they have to be dealing damage when you recycle to gain points. thanks
couldn't think of anything so i wrote this instead

    Re: tu#3 recycling question

Good question, as now it seems that you are being double penalized.  In some of the 3v3 games, it is common for my team to take on a firebase, and reconfigure it as needed to produce units or supplies, or even recycle it completely to allow a teammate to build there.

I understand the half-rate of return penalty (so people cannot build quickly to rush and then recycle to build even faster, but this was really only an issue with the hog rush/tech), and I understand that a lot of people will recycle when defeat is inevitable in order to end the game quicker (or to grief a bit and not allow the would-be-winner the points), but the TU3, as it states now, completely neglects that there are times when you just want to change a strategy to adapt, so why should the enemy team be given points if they aren't even attacking?  It really should be either or, or it should have certain parameters implace, such as if the building is taking damage and is recycled, then the points are given to the attacker (much like how units in an autoheal area cannot be healed while taking damage.

    This needs to be clarified.

Yeah it will. They gain points for just recycling some thing. I saw it in another post. I think that's just stupid! They are making it so that you that you can't recycle anything

Recycling is designed to be a last resort...not some Edit/Undo button for gaming..."Yeah..Returns Counter, I bought this xbox 360 on Friday night..because my buddies were coming over to play, and we wanted to do some System Link halo wars...and uhm..well its Monday now...so I want to return it and get my 470$ back please"

Oh No! This means we have to put some thought in to what we are building...and MIGHT even...HAVE TO EXPAND our base to another base!!

The evil of it all!!  Ohh the humanity!!  Seriously...is it really that big of a deal to NOT recycle something? Just scout, and build counters and your main line unit or what have you, and expand bases and build stuff that you may only temporarily need...and just DONT recycle it..who knows you might need it later! If you dont mindlessly build, this should be a non issue...

"-Recycle basic cost return fixed to be 50% for constructed buildings."

What does it mean? If I destroy barracks, I'll get 50% from it cost (75)? And how much percent cost return now?

I am completely confuse about this recycling thing too. I thought that when you recycle you only get 75% of the supply back. I only read once but I should probably go back and read it.

    that's exactly it.

minus the damage. so if your building has only 50% of his life yet, you'll get 50% of 75$., 25 health = 25% of 75$, etc.

    Re: tu#3 recycling question

Also, if its something expensive, (say a double reactor) you can heal it to full capacity to get the most back out of it...while also healing other buildings (if you are planning on destroying the base for whatever reason...say a pending attack..or emminent doom, to give a last minute money shot to a team mate or something..

You can choose (when your base under attack and you know that it would be destroy), give your opponent points and get some supply from recycling buildings or don't get any supply and don't give points to opponent. If I get supply from recycling, I should have more chance for to win. Or if my opponent use this tactic I'll get FREE points.

I just want to say, everyone is complaining that the enemy will be getting points when you recycle, but SO WILL YOU!  This effects everyone in a positive way.  Stop complaining and be happy about it.  It's what you wanted.
