You could split your vampires into two or more groups to limit the effects of cryo

Make an entire army of vampires against hawks. Send in oh I dunno...about 6-10. Use each individual one to Statis drain a different hawk, ( When you statis drain an air unit they can't move, attack or do anything until they are dead or your statis stops. Even a vulture is a sitting duck once in statis.) Hopefully the Ander's will use the cyro on your couple of vampires. Once she does, guess who doesn't have a second cyro, and guess who has an almost full army of vampires still? =]

I love how people think Cryo kills everything it touches. It only does a hard cap of damage, and unless it's upgraded it's not going to kill more than 3 vamps.

This is a true statement I was speaking for a Super Cryo. If it's late game you have something to worry about but if she just got hawks about 8-10 mins into game, her cryo is most likely not even at Tier 2.

Exactly. Once, I was playing a fine gentleman Anders, and she dumped a fully upgraded cryo on her own hawks :P

Super cryo has a hard limit as well, although it's obviously larger. We were testing a while ago and each cryo upgrade killed one additional hornet, and I would assume vamps work the same way due to their equal cost.

Either way, 4x mac is better in almost every single situation.

Really no.  Why is everything you say about this game wrong.  It does capped damage...so if the guy has a super cryo and he has unupgraded vamps then maybe, but never the whole army.  plus unupgraded vamps are terrible v hawks anyways.  You need to at least do the first upgrade at minimun if your fighting hawks which would make them 15 or 25 % stronger i forget the percentages so there is no way a cryo can kill an army of vamps.

I don't care what the cap is, if I drop a super cryo on your vampires, a good chunk of them will die if not all. Maybe if you have 20 upgraded vampires, some will survive. But chances are, Anders will have hawks before you get stasis bomb.

 

And if they aren't completely upgraded, you pretty much lose your whole army to cryo. Whatever survived, the hawks can kill while still frozen. Cryo is a lot easier to upgrade than vampires.

Uh, no way. Possibly if you suck, but that's just about the only way. It's easier to get stasis bomb than hawk, especially if there are free reactors on the map. Also for your example Anders would have to get super cryo and Hawks before you get stasis bomb, in which case you really suck.

Chances are you wont be able to cleanly drop a cryo on all my vamps without hitting your hawks too....The more units in the cryo the fewer die.  Even with the stasis drain upgrade vamps kill hawks. The are the same price and make at the same speed so its not like you could outproduce me.  And yes I could easily get stasis bomb before or slightly after you get hawks...but it wouldnt be needed.

maybe not mathematically, but realistically, Anders tends to get hawks first. Hornets are usually higher priority for Anders than vampires are for covy.
