Banshees are better but only because u can make vamps.. In other words: hornets are much better than banshees.. but if u have a summit and the first upgrade temple: the vamps are godlike..

Honestly, upgraded or not, Hornets always win in a straight-up fight. However the banshees could simply fly away in a heartbeat, heal, and come back.
Both can take buildings out pretty quick, especially with upgrades. Though the last Banshee upgrade is only useful if they die....

So i gotta say Hornets > Banshees.

To be honest, hornets suck early game. I would rather have banshees early game, but hornets late game. Plus hornets are slow at killing buildings, and banshees can hit and run.

banshees are much better.

much higher speed, extremely useful for micro, good for killing arbiter.

early on power, late are extremely powerful. can go from anywhere to anywhere with boost every like 4 seconds.

 amazing building damage.

Well, it depends on how you look at it:

 

If you mean which unit is a better unit in combat, that would be the hornet. A hornet would beat a banshee every time.

If you mean which unit is better strategically (sp) then I would have to say the banshee. Banshees are cheaper than hornets, they can be made at tech 1, and they have a boost ability, making them great for harassing. They also get sacrafice, which makes them much more efficient vs. ground units.
