ive read all four halo books and am about half way through the second rep. comando book and i was wondering what you guys think. If the comandos took the spartans straight on they would lose. But if they took the spartans on with the same shield technology and physical upgrades, bone augmantations and all, i think the comandos would win. The spartans trained since they were ten, the comandos were bread to fight. They have trained since they were embrios. I just found this interesting after thinking about it and wondered what you guys thought.

Well, Republic commandos arent that amazing, its their sheer numbers(kinda like grunts).  I havent read the Republic Comandos books, but i still think theSpartans would Pwn the RC's

Well I would say it's quite equal when looking at it but I would say the Commandos, they seem much more coordinated and they have a better sense of humor (even though that counts for nothing). And about being sheer number, they're like Arc Troopers, they come in limited numbers and they only operate in four man teams.

Space Marines kick all of their collected asses. As for the Spartans vs. RCs, I tend to side with the Spartans, due to their greater (subjective) ability to communicate/function as a team, and because while Republic Commandos were "trained" since birth, from what I understand the training was condensed and given by only a small number of people on specific (Mandalorian) military strategy. Also, in general the level of military strategy seems to be far greater in the UNSC from the Halo universe than that of the corresponding Star Wars affiliations, with the mastery of WMDs (Weapons of Mass Destruction) being a key example.

spartans win hands down... they have much more experiance... and operating as a team never fail at their duties... unless they are all dead......

I really think the problem with the RC's is that they are all one person.  They were all cloned off of Jango Fett(of Boba fett, cant remember which).  That means there is no diversity in opinion or skills.  The book may depict otherwise, but it is true.

The Spartans are all different, they have different skills and leadership tactics.  The Spartans would win hands down

I think that if i had mjolnir amour, i could stand a chance.  Of course, they battle tactics would rip me apart, but i would stand up to them physically(if i had the augmentations as well)

All the same person but they all have differen't personalities, all have different memories, twins look the same but they can be completely different.

The tactics, they all use different strategies, if you've played Republic Commando, you have Boss, almost like the Master Chief in more than one way. You have Sev, aka Psyco, he doesn't remind me of any of the Spartans so he's a class of his own. Fixer is also the quiet type, reminds me of Fred a bit. Then you have Scorch, the man with a sense of humor, reminds me of Will. Each specialize in something but they each can do the others can, even if it isn't better. They were trained much like Spartans but they were bred for war. All they don't have is a suit the intensify's their moves ten fold, if they did I would say they are a much a match for a Spartan than any soldier. And you have to note, they weren't made better, they didn't have steriods injected into them, growth hormones, they just grew up in half of the time.

Thats because twins arent exactly the same.  They have different genes. some from the mother, and some from the father.  If i were to clone my self twice at the same time, the two clones would be act the exact same.  they would not differ in skill unless they go through gene therapy.

just from experiance.. the spartans are all in their 40's.... and started at age six....  thats over 30 years of battle experiance.....

 

not 10 years of genetically altered training..... you can only train for so mnay things... real experiance is where you learn to fight anything thrown at you... every individual spartan is enough to take on a huge force of enemies....

 the republic commando's also dont go up against as battle hardened enemies as the spartans do..... being able to take out a bunch of robots... is much different than taking out a bunch of elites... with grunt and jackel support....

 
the commandoes dont fight enemies that are their equals.... an elite is the physical equivalent of a spartan... sowhile they seem like an ultra cool fighting force... its only because they are taking on inferior enemies....

Actually p8ntballermark, the spartans trained since they were five. The commandos trained for 10 years , and the spartans trained for a longer time period then that.
