Shield World: My theory on the ending to halo 3

Seeing the halo 3 legendary ending again I came up with an interesting theory, Master Chief is teleported to the shield world during the forerunner- flood war. He could have been sent back in time*. This explains the sentential who could talk English on onyx** (where I assume he landed), and why there are no forerunner in the galaxy. Such a big explosion could have easily been detected by forerunner (or flood) technology. In addition this article can help prove that this is onyx*** (or any shield world). So I have established Master Chief’s location and some plot hole so what happened?

    * http://halo.wikia.com/wiki/Slipspace_anomaly

** Ghosts of Onyx and http://halo.wikia.com/wiki/Onyx_Sentinel

    *** http://blog.ascendantjustice.com/halo-3/shield-world/

    Story

Master Chief is found in orbit by the forerunner. Cortana give the monitor English data so he can speak. But that same slip space anomaly could have been detected by the flood. So the flood attacked Onyx and Master Chief is killed defending the planet. I think it would make a cool movie.

Do you think this is the right theory?

I'll take your word for it....

I haven't read the halo novels.

But there is something interesting about the Halo:Reach trailer...

I know I'm not the only one to notice this

But tell me you don't see what looks like the Master Chief floating in space near the damaged ship.

Here's the link, start looking closely in the middle of the fog and you'll see a Spartan like figure

    It's at about 30 seconds.

It takes place on Reach, a major UNSC colony. But read the articles and you will see that its a sheild world

Well obviously it takes place on reach; hence the title "Halo:Reach"

Reach is a shield world you mean?

Is that the "planet" seen at the end of Halo:3?

Because they look a lot alike.

Re: Shield World: My theory on the ending to halo 3

while time travel as a byproduct of slipspace is possible the events leading to this event from happening are highly unlikely given how the portals collapsed. as to why the sentinel speak english it is probally due to the fact that in the halo universe civilizations develope in a predictable patter (see forerunner tech tier chart) so it is highly likely that the forerunners encounter a language similar to Latin in there exploration of our galaxy before and during the forerunner flood war.

while if you look at the universe from afar i dont see joseph staten(i curse him with a passion) and the other writers at bungie would do a story like this,

( Pm if you want me to explain why time travel is possible in the halo universe)

Your theory doesn't have evidence. You have assumptions. And i hope you realise that this theory isn't smart or origional. Its a terrible theory that is impossible.

A theory is not an assumption. A theory can be properly backed up. This cannot.

If Chief went back in time don't you think he would try to avert the Halo crisis? You know, leave a message or something?
