Covies versus locusts. Who would win?

I've been thinking about this as the locust would cause the covies problems as anything they do the locust can counter.

Glass the planet, locust hide in their tunnels.

Set up a base, locust surpise attack from below

Tell me what you guys think.

so many of these have been done now i'm going insane!!! but all i'm saying is this... one elite with energy sword would kill every locust without a problem... it has a one hit kill weapon... and shields which would be almost unaffected by locust weaponry (i'm guessing the last part)

    I know how you feel.

But yea, the Covies would win. Because the Locust only have one planet, and no space fleet. The Covenant have many ships, and many planets, so they could just blockade the planet while constantly bombarding it to destroy anything usefull on the surface.

Re: Covies versus locusts. Who would win?

Locust guns are powered by imulsion so they can be seen as equal to UNSC Balistic weaponry so about 10 drones could take down a sword elite.

Also they don't have a space presence , but to effectively beat the locust you would have to rip the planet apart, as the locust would hide in their tunnels, where all their resources are, as imulsion is underground.

I think that about covers your arguments. any more?

P.S I know about all these comparions, it must be maddening but I think this is agood one as the locust can counter all the  covies tatics.

No they wouldn't there shields would go down after a few seconds of sustained fire, or even 1 longshot round.

10 wretches could take a jackel easy.

look lucust are stupid, they come out of holes in the ground and all you have to do is throw a grenade down it as it opens and you are safe, all the covies have to do is get some hunters, beat that fools

it would be a pretty even fight until the covenant the just broke the planet in half. Then the locusts lose.

Re: Covies versus locusts. Who would win?

    SPARTAN GREY 12:
about 10 drones could take down a sword elite.

That actually doesn't help your arguement. The Locust are only on one planet, which typically (for Earth anyways) can only sustain around 8-12 billion people/locust.

Now add in the fact that the Covenant are around several solar systems worth of planets....and the Elites probably own a fair portion of this, so there could be anywhere from 20 billion or more Elites.

Now, we'll say that it takes 10 Drones to kill a sword Elite and 4 to kill a regular Elite. That means that there would have to be at least 80 billion Locust to even match the Elites, which there aren't. And not to mention that there are many races in the Covenant, possibly even trillions of Grunts.

The Covenant would win by sheer numbers and technology, and if they can't win then they'll literally tear the planet apart using anti-matter bombs and orbital bombardment.

There is just no way that one, less advanced planet can hold out against an interstellar empire.

a hunter pair could rip through ANY locust

plus the Covenant can just bombard the planet from orbit
