    I just noticed this

On halopedia, I was looking at the UNSC page, and I saw that there were certain factions still against them.  Perhaps these will be in halo 3 siding with the Prophets and brutes?

    <><>Most likely just the Rebels.
But, no.  The Covenant want to wipe out Humanity, not destroy the UNSC.  And during the HUman-Covey war, the Rebels have tried to stay Hidden.

Have you ever read first strike..?

they stay hidden because they can't fight the covenant. but they also don't want to join the UNSC as most of them are criminals and the sort

no, they want to destroy all humans, and the flood wants to eat everything, so they are in the way.

    Re: I just noticed this

I forgot to answer the main post, the rebels (from the novels) seem to be more secretive than aggressive to the UNSC, as they don't really have anything to take on the UNSC and mainly bluff and hide (the UNSC don't destroy the rebels for some reason, they know of their existance though) like i said, they're mainly criminals and the sort rather than a full fledged rebel force, and as the game revolves around the covenant war there probaly won't be much attention on the rebels

And the covenant are at war with humans as a race, not just the UNSC, so they may manipulate rebels into a situation with the UNSC, but they wouldn't properly use them as a fighting force

But it could be a cool tutorial to teach you, a practise mission taking out a rebel installation or something

I think it said in one of the books that the UNSC was spread to thin to go against a few rebels, because they were just getting a handle on diffusing a near civil-war. Im not sure though.
