    Re: WARNING: restricted NAT detected.

protip : if NAT restricted, open it up :D

how to do so : ask google. name of your router + open ports and open ports 3074 UPD and TCP and 88 UDP for your xbox

    /problem solved.

edit : you NEED to tell your 360 to have a static IP or it won't be fixed. and don't you forget to put the IP of your XBOX in the IP field, not your computer's.

    Re: WARNING: restricted NAT detected.

Xbox.com has a ton of support for this kind of problem. Essentially, your router/cable modem is restricting your ability to play online.

Check out this article for some more specific help on the matter. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/958429?sd=xbox

Ah the restrictive NAT, my arch nemesis for years................

In a nutshell, it's how open your router is when communicating with others. An Open NAT will allow to play with anybody without any problems.

But a restrictive NAT is very picky and will only select similar NATS, and it cuts down how many people you can play against, and thus slow down matchmaking.

My router has an annoying habit of flipping back and forth from open to strict, and right now I'm in a strict situation.

I'm afraid I have no idea how to fix it.

    =[

Ironically I just tested my connection and it seems it's decided to flip back to Open, when it was strict a few hours ago.

I really hate it when it does this.

    Re: WARNING: restricted NAT detected.

It usually sometimes depends on your internet provider or how many electronics in the house are using the internet.

    Usually sometimes?

    Isn't that an oxymoron?

Yeah, but my provider is vista capable. and one of the compatable devices with Xbox Live.

Hmm.......I believe there is about 4 devices that can use the internet, 360 included.

low end routers do this kind of thing all the time. You generally need to reboot the darn things to make this go away.

    It isn't low end though.

It's a BT home Hub. The newer version that's suposed to have a more reliable internet connection.
