Halo 1 was an awsome game but it was more of a point and shoot compared to halo2 which had alot of story in the game( im not talking about the books, which had alot of story but just the game)

wow, i completely disagree.  I think Halo 1 was better than Halo 2 only because of the plot.  I liked the plot of Halo 2, but not as much as halo 1plot.  i thought the prophets looked kinda stupid, also.

Thrown around a lot? This is the deadest horse on the Internet :) For my money, while Halo 2 is more detailed and adds desireable gameplay additions (boarding, dual wielding) I think within the limits of the engine's capabilities, H1 shows a greater attention to detail, has a more atmospheric feel, and is a better overall solo experience. Comparing the multiplayer modes is a subject for another day, and not really a fair comparison as H1 was developed too early to work on Xbox Live.

I actually did a runthrough of all the Halo 2 campaign levels, in order, comparing the different feel of the game to Halo 1:

halo 2 had some better features but they were both pretty good!

i think halo 2 dose have better mp, halo had a better plot but remember that halo 2 got rushed so it could have been alot better then it was

I agree. The feeling of total desolation and chaos, especially in the first couple levels, was really neat. It made co-op even better because you had to rely on your teammate to watch your back because nothing was certain. Throw in a couple frightened marines and you have a great psychological game. I hope they can replicate that feeling in Halo 3. Somehow they lose that in Halo 2's singleplayer.

 
I am looking forward to Halo 3's massive ground battles though. It won't be "desolation" but it should bring the real chaos back.

I want them to just make a game that makes us excited while playing. To make you scared of just turning the corner because of what might be on the other side.

Halo:Combat Evolved has a better plot, to me 'tis HCE

I was 9 years old when i first played Halo CE.  I used to be scared to play the LIbrary single player, because of the flood.  i would make my brother play also
