What type of RTS should it be?

There are different types of RTS games like Squad Based (like DoW) and Empire Building (like AoE and C&C). I think it would be good if it were a mix of the two mentioned but anyone else have any ideas about it what type of RTS it should be?

My best guess would be something like Company of Heroes, so squad based.

I think they should have the squad system from World in Conflict where the squads are well rounded and not just basic infantry

squad based, fighting style like DOW, Building's and building method and no pop. cap. like C&C, Economy, The map for campaign, and possible space battles like EAW. wow come to think of it what kind of RTS is that?

there will be a pop-cap no matter what, jsut because the 360 is only SO powerful, plus online multiplayer would be horrible with no pop-cap and playing with some people with crazy-high "ping" values

There should be no "unit creating" buildings, either, because it's just unrealistic. Bringing in troops by Pelican or from off the map is best.

with pelican landing zone u need to build to recieve said units, and order from

so its really jsut a fancy unit builder, a landing pad, when ur units built its deployment animation is a pelican flying in with it, that would be good, have some crazy pelican supply route thing makes even less sense in terms of gameplay

You could still build a large defensive base - remember in First Strike the Spartans make a defensive base on Reach to protect the generators - with instant concrete sorta stuff. Towers, firing pits, maybe an armoury/rough supply centre.

I hope its like AoE because I like building giant base and creating large armys.

Re: What type of RTS should it be?

I think the pelican dropping off the troops is a cool idea, but you would have to have some unit that builds the landing pad unless you just start with it at your base. That would make it a lot more squad based. Also it should be like Company of Heroes where you where you have a combat unit who will build small walls and things to use as cover. It might also be pretty cool if your troops could pick debris up off the ground to make barricades.

Re: What type of RTS should it be?

I don't think they would be able to pick debrie off the ground
