I'm sure there are a lot of things that factor in to it, but it seems like the skill level is a little wonky.  Last I checked I was at 23, and I've played 10 games since then, winning 8, and now it's at 17.

To put it simply: if you win you get closer to ranking up, the amount that you rank up varies - and varies quite a bit - it may take even 20 straight wins to get a single skill level up (if you don't believe me, go listen to the guys out in Halo 3)

 Thing is - it works - the vast majority of the time...

The system itself is tried and true, but it is designed for many many players. If you watch your ranking after each game you'll see it jump all over the place. This is because its based on the bell curve and if there are only a few (few as in thousands instead of hundreds and hundreds of thousands) players that you are being compared to on the bell curve then you're going to shift quite a bit.

Just be patient dude. When the game gets way more popular and people start rolling through noobs you are going to actually need "TrueSkill" to rank up. And when you do rank up you might not want to, because you'll be playing harder people and losing. Its a conundrum :)

Yea, but if you're the competitive type you'll actually try to face harder and harder people - if nothing else but to learn strategies yourself ;)

I see the same thing I am 34 today where I think I was a 14 the day before =)

I was 23, i played 1 game, and won now i'm level 6... The true skill doesn't seem to be working right imo.

I believe an accurate "true skill" rating will not be exhibited until later. With more time, games, etc. Yah know? What kinda rating do you give a level 2 who raped a level 5? Well, no system can actually gauge it accordingly until he plays more opponents of various levels.

after i won a game i checked my skill level... lvl14. "nice" i thought :D

but now after checking it again im down to 4 O_o

I was skill level 10,  lost a game and am now skill level 18.

Yes.. I'm sure it does work...

I think that there is something wrong with the trueskill this site gives you and the true skill provided in halo wars. For example, in 1v1 my trueskill is 40, yet when I check on this site it says it is 19. Yet I'll go back to halo wars and it will still be 40, and my position on the leaderboards wouldnt've changed. I'm pretty sure it's just something to do with the Halo Wars game stats.

not sure...I am a 38 in doubles and 34 in 1v1 and a 26 in 3v3 and I am a 9 on the site...hmmmm

Mine has only gone up so im not sure how it works.
