    *** people.

Just played 1v1 on Docks. Guy kept me on defensive with a bunch of upgraded warthogs and a few vultures. Destroyed 3 of my bases (one I built twice). Finally I had enough wolverines base turrets and upgraded scorpions to make an attack. Send my guys over and attack his first base. Got Mac'd and barraged by warthogs, but no base turrets so a little repair and I only lost 1 unit. Take out one of three of his bases start heading for his main and you know what happend...

    resigned...

    *** people.

Who the hell cares?  You won.  This is the way it goes in RTS games.  I don't think I ever (EVER) won by destroying all structures in SC or WC3, and if I did, it happened too rarely for me to remember.  This is the way it goes.  Who wants to wait around for their stuff to blow up?  (Though I usually self destruct)

    Re: *** people.

get use to it, i strongly believe warthogs can't compete once the game has lasted longer then a rush is possible

It is just funny how I was on the brink of defeat multiple times, but as soon as the threat of defeat came to him he quit.

But I did not win... The game was not even counted by XBL.

    Re: *** people.

What's the big deal?  If he resigns, he's just admitting that you're the winner.  I don't care if the other person resigns as long as it's when I'm going to clearly win and not early in the game.  However, I never resign.  Generally I like to drag it out as long as possible, just to grief him for beating me.

Once, when I was clear I was going to loose, I made as many hornets as I could before I lost my last base, and recycled all of the building for the supplies, and then I just flew around the map making a base and waiting for it to get destroyed, and then making another base on the other side of the map, until I was out of supplies.  I made the game go on for about 10 minutes longer than it needed to.

    Re: *** people.

It is considered good mannered to resign if you are going to lose.  Dragging out the game pointlessly is just annoying.  Although it isn't a big problem in Halo Wars because you are limmited to building in specific places.

When people just disconnect and my points aren't counted, then I get pissed.

    Re: *** people.

Resigning is not courteous it is dishonorable. Now if you wanted to end the game self-destruct your base. The less than a minuet and you lose. That is only if you have units. I don't mind it if people drag out the game. The extra 3-4 on my multiplier is worth it. That is like two resigned games.

    Re: *** people.

Commiedic, very few people understand the difference between self destructing, and resigning.
Self destructing ends the game on good terms.

you get all your points, and everythings cool

Resigning, however, ends the game with a pissed off winner.

You do not get all your points, and its like, hehehe you beat me but im not gonna let you have your points. its stupid. i think that if someone resignes, it should give you full points

I did not know that resigning cut the points off like that. I feel bad for the few times I have done it now. I will self destruct for sure.

simply put: if you resign you should lose. Plain and simple, no exceptions.

    Re: *** people.

yeah. me and a friend were playing on crevice against a few brute players. they were both attacking my side, and i scouted, knew we were gonna get attacked, made a ton of jackals, killed their first cheify that attacked me, pushed back, and was in their base for a while. locusted him after a long hard fought battle and nuked his base, and they both resigned. i got first place, but they got second and third, while my partner got fourth. totally unfair, they jacked his points by resigning (he definitly would have gotten second) while it doesnt seem to affect their points at all.(cept for not getting the bonus for finishing the game)
