    Final Fantasy and Halo

I always thought of a game that would be Halo themed but in a Final Fantasy style game play.  I think that it would work out to be a pretty awesome game.  For one it would be really easy to make multiple games out of it with Halos long storyline (ex: FFI-FFXII).  Though Final Fantasy isn't a continuing storyline, that wouldn't matter.  Just the game play of it would make it a fun and complex.  You could have on in the UNSC point of view and then in the next game have it in the Covenants.  Call it something like, "Halo Revelations"  or something.

What do you guys think of a game like that?

I myself am not a fan of FF. I'm not saying their bad games, they're just not my type. My opinion can be drawn from the two previous sentences.

    Exitus acta probat.

    Re: Final Fantasy and Halo

Final Fantasy gameplay is more ment for RPG games, not FPS. From what I can remember, doesn't it have turn based fighting? Of course, I'm not sure and haven't played the games myself in forever, but that's what I seem to remember.

    I like pi.

    Re: Final Fantasy and Halo

Yes most are turn based, but while still turn based in FFXII you had the ability to move your characters and give them automated instructions to certain circumstances. They are also going to do the same thing in FFXIII, with a cooler battle style, I saw it on xplay.

Then again  that star wars game was RPG. They could make something like that, or fable. I find the second idea more attractive, I couldn't play fable thanks to magic.

    Re: Final Fantasy and Halo

well, there are a hella lot of people who do like that stuff, though.

I think a Halo RPG would be awsome!!!  it could be exactly like KOTOR.  it could follow the Rise of the Covenant.  like in my book or something.  YOu could use energy swords as much as you use swords in kotor, then you simply use plasma weapons as Blaster weapons and you would fight in wars and fight on different planets and stuff.

    that would be uber awsome

    Re: Final Fantasy and Halo

Halo is a fast moving action packed shooter.imagine master chief standing waiting for his turn to attack while being shot with a needler.Or getting stuck with a plasma nade.Horrible.im not saying anything against FF but it just doesnt go well with the image of the mc

    Gears

    Re: Final Fantasy and Halo

    I like what avid said.
Another way they could do it is you can still play in a fps style, but you interact and do things like you would in KOTOR. Most would love to play a spartan, but how about tough marine like Sgt. Johnson or some civilian who's colony was destroyed and a whole adventure starts when they attack your planet. (i can't decide how i want the controlsSad KOTOR or FPS)

    Re: Final Fantasy and Halo

and I personally like Xbox games better than comp games, but i think this would be a comp game.

I think it would be better to play as a covenant, maybe a Arbiter.  Running through different planets on missions for the Covenant, or simply trying to survive.  It wouldnt even have to be a FPS, although that would be cool.  The game would work alot better as KOTOR style play.  I be this could all be made quite simply by a video game maker.  You probably could simply change audio and the people in the actual KOTOR games Smile

Even though that would be illegal...

    Re: Final Fantasy and Halo

I think an RPG could be good if done right but not like FF Maybe about the beginning of the covenant or something like Mass Effect

    Re: Final Fantasy and Halo

I have specifically formatted my book sdo its compatible with being made into a video game.  I'm not exactly sure why, but i just did.  I have made a specific HUD that is created with lenses put over the eyes. Smile

I know exactly how this type of game would work...

    Re: Final Fantasy and Halo

Maybe having parts of it being RTS or if the AI in the game could make the fights and battles more action packed.  The MC does get hit every once in a while.  The charactors would move more and not just stand there until their attack timer is full.  They would dodge and do counter attack.  Like in FFXII  there are 'gambits'  which acts like a brain for them...(you'll have to play the game to really get the idea.)  The more they fight, the better and stronger they become and you can add more 'gambits' as the game progresses.

In other words I'm not saying that it should be exactly like Final Fantasy, but using that game play idea and expanding on it...

    Re: Final Fantasy and Halo

How ever the game play may turn out (and it matter) I like the idea of a civilian fighting the covenant. To take a slight drift from the main plot, not so much mc or spartans. But the struggle of one of the people who's home and reality destroyed by the covenant. Starting on the planet Harvest as a kid, or maybe Sigma Octavius.

    Re: Final Fantasy and Halo

thats a good idea.  then some how get them into getting involved with UNSC and getting ahold of some SPI armor and fighting with the Spartans later on in the game.

    Re: Final Fantasy and Halo

Thanks Balthasar I could place the name on those things.(gambits)

Well.....he begins on one of those two planets he/she is do everyday life stuff when they attack. He/She is in the city where the covies focus their attack. At first runs away like a well civilian. Then after discovered by the Spartans and see a couple people close to him/her die is enraged and kicks serious butt! This is just the beginning.
Now i will stop here because as awesome as this idea is, it is off topic. In the end I say it is a great idea if not done in a FF manner. If done in an expanded version of the FFXII battle style, it will basically be like KOTOR but with more attacks.(if that is possible without magic)
