Hey guys,

One thing I haven't figured out how to do yet is create and/or view replays of cool games that have been played.  Unfortunately that doesn't seem to be an available feature. 

Anyway, I played a pretty kickass game today versus a prophet rusher and wrote it up over at http://www.battlereports.com.  Check it out and let me know what you think and I might make a few more.

Very well written article, I think it's great to have made something like this. I'm ranked 17th in the world in 1v1 matches and the 5 times I've lost has been to covenant hero rushes. One loss however was due to Sheriff65 (ranked 6th) locust rushing me on that 1v1 map with ruins, lots of trees, and two bonus reactors. When I scouted him I had assumed he was going to prophet rush me so I made turrets and flamethrowers and had just started producing hornets at the 3 and a half minute mark when he came with the locusts and began destroying my turrets...My carpet bomb killed his two locusts but he quickly got more and destroyed my turrets and reactors from long range and I was no longer able to produce hornets and the game was lost. I even used 2 spartans to jack locusts but the captured locusts couldn't kill his and the prophet in time to save my base.

The lesson I learned from that game is to always prepare for a rush against the covenant, but be extremely aware of the map that you're playing on. When I saw his war factory I assumed he'd be getting wraiths because to get a tier 2 unit costs way to much - but I hadn't factored in the bonus reactors on that map.

Twizzey, I would think that scouting + a couple of turrets + a few of your own hogs would do the trick.  I actually haven't run into this one yet.

I read your battle report, it doesn't sound like that guy was 100% on top of his game.

Typically by the time he reaches your base he will have Hero + Ghost and will then portal in Elite Guards as they finish cooking.

If you let him get a toe hold in your base - he is there killing just buildings and you are not stoppping him - he can finish the game shortly.

Having the ability to continuously portal units to the frontline is very strong, you will get overran in no time.

By sitting there with just his PoR, not bringing units forward, wasting all his resources relying on just his PoR to win the game, he's not the brightest crayon in the box.

Drake, the guy definitely wasn't on top of his game.  My thought was actually simpler.  Why didn't he just let the barracks finish before blowing it away.  And why wasn't he watching for turrets? 

I've not tried Covenant rushing much, but I was thinking that if you go temple first and are forced to use your cleansing beam right away upon arrival in your opponents base, it takes time to get enough resources to build some troops.  Especially if your opponent is building threats that could push you back.  I could be wrong though.

 Also thanks for the tip azzamat.  I had no idea you could do that.

Only two things are infinite, the Universe and human stupidity, and I'm not so sure about the former.

I've never warthog rushed once. Check my stats if you don't believe me, they say I have a true skill of 17 for some reason but if you check the leaderboards I'm #19 in 1v1's. Does anyone else notice that the trueskill stats on here get pretty messed up on here sometimes?
