they anounced a while ago that they will not put master cheif in the game no matter what ..... i dont have it either but im 90 % sure they wont put him in directly

ok, i'm not usually one to complain about the search bar being used, but that should have been obvious that someone would have answered that. during the time of halo wars there were only thirty fully trained spartans. and what do you mean by "not being master chief"?

I sincerely hope you don't think he's off fighting the Covenant at this point in time...

 Why wouldn't he be fighting the covenant?  Aren't the Red team in the campaign part of the same class of spartan IIs as Master Chief was?

Perhaps because at this point in time the "Master Chief", John-117 is just receiving his Mark IV armor, and is about 18? First he fights insurgents, then he infiltrates a Covenant ship to steal tech, then Mark V armor with shields, and then kicking Covie ass.

To even consider that he might be in Halo Wars as a "younger" John is rediculous.

I, being the huge halo junkie/nerd I have grown to be am a master of cheifness lol. You have already probably heard that it was announced awhile ago he won't be in the game, however there were a few things you kind of had wrong. Cheif was always the "master" cheif of the spartans, because at a young age he was chosen to be the leader to the  SPARTAN II program, and later leader of Blue Team ( spartans- John,Fred,Sam[until he was killed], Kelly, Linda, and Kurt[replaced Sam but was later taken to train the SPARTAN III's). Lastly at the time of Halo Wars John was only about 15-17 depending on when his birthday is which I wish I knew, but sadly do not :'[. I got a lil off topic there, but point is he was just in the process of getting augmented and what not with the other spartans, so he was not fighting against the covenant, but rather the rebels. Lastly yes I know im a total nerd, but I love reading/halo so the two tie together.

Slight amendment by another geek who loved the books, it was 2525 when they went through their augmentation to allow the Spartans to use the Mark IV Mjolnir power armour. Halo Wars is set in 2531 so they all have completed their training and augmentations. The reason we wouldn't see Spartan 117 is because at the time he was leading Blue team (as you said) on a mission to capture General Graves of the rebel front. A slight break in the canon does occur in Halo wars though by the fact the spartans have energy shields which were fitted to Mark V armour the day before the fall of reach in 2552.

Again anyone who hasn't read the books really should very good piece of Sci-fi writing especially by Eric Nylund and really fleshes out the Halo universe.

 

One of the Spartans in the demo specifically said something along the lines of "Has anyone seen John?  (insert random rant here)"  The first part of that quote I assume is pretty accurate.  I don't remember what the second part was.  But it does seem that Spartan 117 truly isn't in Halo Wars.

Master Chief was away on other missions against the URF, then was later deployed against the covenant.  there is no mention of him in-game(in some marine chater, but thats about it)

cause his name is john his about the same age as john and he survives the super nova and is never herd of again and rumer has it that in the legendary ending they talk about him becoming a spartan and permanately wearing the spartan armour because of the injurys he sustained
