What's Your Favorite Heroic Spartan Death?

    ~Possible Spoilers BELOW

I finally just finished reading GoO today and damn those final few pages were awesome. I got to thinking about all the Spartan deaths and Will's death stood out the most to me (I know a lot of people liked how Kurt went out). When I was reading that page where Will (Who I never really got to know, he was kinda quite in the book until this part for me) basically saved Kurts life. I couldn't help but to picture this action going on in my head as I read on......

"The nearest  Hunter turned faster than he expected, slicing it's two-ton shield into Kurt's soloar plexus. The outer layer of Kurt's armor cracked and the liquid ballistic underlayers failed and squirted out. He dropped in a heap at the Hunter's boots, dazed, only recovering his witss enough to see the Hunter raise both fists over him for the killing blow.

Will hurled himself at the Hunter, and knocked the beast off its feet and into its mate -- and the three of them tumbled down the stairs. Kurt got up, ignoring the near-blinding pain, and limped to the edge.

Will stood between both Hunters at the base of the hill. He kicked the nearest in the unaremed middle and it staggered back. Around him were a dozen Elites who, confonfronted by the sight of a lone Spartan engaging two Hunters in hand-to-hand combat, were momentarily too stunned to act. One Hunter lashed out with his shield. Will ducked, darted inside it's reach, and battered it's bruised midsection--punching through flesh and ripping out wriggling chunks of the composite eel colony.

The second Hunter angled away from the fight and brought its cannon to bear. Will spun around. The Hunter shot him. Will's energy shield vanished, and the front of his MJOLNIR armor melted."

Just an awesome scene, sad as it was to read about a Spartan dying.. I'd like to have a poster sized colored illustration of Will fighting the two Hunters.  I also liked Sam's death because of his bravery.

Re: What's Your Favorite Heroic Spartan Death?

I would have to say Kurts, not because it's Heroic but it was described so well. But since this is Heroic deaths, I would have to go with Sam's, second best death in the whole series and he sacrifice himself for the good of the mission. Every time I turned the page I was hoping he would get out there some how.
"Honor? There ain't no honor in this war. The Plasma-Rifles killed it. And if the Plasma-Rifles didn't, then the Wraiths did. If the Wraiths didn't, then the Scarabs sure as hell did."

    I think Sam

His death was heroic. Most other Spartans did something heroic then died.

Re: What's Your Favorite Heroic Spartan Death?

I kinda think that Will's death was the most heroic, he saved Kurt and the rest of the team.

But my favorite death was Kurt's, whats better than detonating 2 nukes at your feet?

Re: What's Your Favorite Heroic Spartan Death?

I think anyone who dies a hero i looked upon favourably by people. Using Spiderman-2 as an example, Otto Octavious spends the whole movie being evil, and trying to construct something which would kill everyone in New York. But because he does the right thing before he dies, many consider his death a tragedy. Same goes for the Spartans. I wont vote one way or the other, because I find it fundamentally. They're all fighting for everyone else, so they're all heros.

    -There's no "I" in team.
-Yeah, but there's no "U" either, so if I'm not on the team, and you're not on the team, NO ONE'S ONE THE GODDAMN TEAM!

I actually laughed when it was describing will fighting the hunters when it said the elites just stood there in shock at what was happening.
