Man, I just finished one debate with Roman_Slayer and Felix (here) and I came out with a bit more appreciation for the game... but this new video had some substantial blows. It was still impressive, mind you, and I still am excited for the game, but my more critical nature gets the best of me. I will be referencing this video.
The first thing that I saw was the banshee around 0:25. They are still hovering. Surely, ES, continuously flying banshees couldn't have been too much of a dificult task to accomplish. After all, in E3 '07, they did this with ease and rather smoothly. Now they just sit in place, something that banshees in all previous Halo's were incapable of.
Next up, the choppers; they are seen around 0:45. I know, these will most likely be restricted to the brute faction of the Covenant, but I still find it hard that something like that could be mass-produced in such a short time. There couldn't have been much time between Contact Harvest and the UNSC's attempt to retake the planet. We all know that the chopper was concepted by a huragok from Contact Harvest, Ligher Than Air Some. [spoiler alert - you have been warned] Yet, even though the mastermind behind the plans dies, the vehicle still makes it back to the Covenant, and in time to actually be mass-produced. I just can't see that happening.
The third thing I saw was very depressing; a spartan jumped up and jacked a banshee (1:00). WTF? Wasn't their enough controversy over them jumping only 75-100 feet in the air, backflipping, and taking out a wraith? This just seems like an insult now. In the FPS games, as John, you couldn't jump more than five or six feet, only been successful at jacking a banshee if it came down to the very bottom of its dip, and even hard then. I almost couldn't believe my eyes, but then I saw another spartan jack a vulture vampire. I repeat myself, WTF?
The last major thing that I noticed was the locusts. I have come to mildly accept them as reasonable units and Fenix pointed out to me how the wraith shields could be possible... but this is just wrong. Not only are the shields present, but they make a giant bubble! Shields prevent things from coming into contact with what lies within. Because of this, both sides shields stayed uniform with the shape of the unit and unless under fire, not even on, making assignations are possible. This means that with a bubble shield, the locust would not only take up a huge amount of space (allowing others to get inside its shields and destroy it with ease), but would also cause it to rise up off the ground and roll. BTW, the Locust shield can bee seen at 1:30.
But enough about my complaints; I wanna hear what you all think about this.
