    Flood Barracks

Anyone else seen this? it looks creepy, but also seems like it might only be found on Release (where flood can be released as an enviromenta hazard:

thoughts, opinions? apparently it almost continously spews out infection forms, and is indestructible.

yeah i saw this about a week ago. my guess (assuming flood arn't playeble ofcourse) is that in campagin (if there is any part of campagin that lets you use covie units (like in the pic) or if they are AI) that you have to kill them as an objective. if it were skirmish, then it may be like creeps from warcraft 3. enemies that are just standing around the map.

dunno bout that infection forms and indestructable tho

    Re: Flood Barracks

Its not indestructible, and it is part of the campaign experience, were (possibly) you team up with the covies in order to destroy the flood threat. and it can be destroyed by most heavy weapons, as mentioned in the article this picture it attached to, such as cyclopes or locust, or scarabs.

Don't read halopedia, the information is mostly unreliable and made up.

    Re: Flood Barracks

Or, maybe that was a skirmish map, as we've already been told the Flood appear on some of them.

The flood aren't playable but they do make appearances in campaign from what we have been told. However they make no appearance in multiplayer.

    Re: Flood Barracks

ES never said they wouldnt be in Skirmish or multiplayer as a "nomad" group

Since its focusing so much on covenant, i would say its it skirmish.

You have to admit though, it does look pretty cool. having flood as an enviromental hazard would be a cool touch, especially if they just randomly roamed round the map, but upon finding a base attacked in force - and only gained units through infection.

I'd probably just tag team with my friends and focus on attacking the Flood.

    Aerial superiority FTW.

I read that certain weapons can kill them but most only make it "temperarily dormant."

Could be that the Covenant in the campaign are trying to contain the Flood.

Well, knowing the flood, the structure could be anything. But perhaps the flood will act like rogue trolls or fire drakes in Battle for Middle Earth. They spawn from one central building and will only hang around that building (but since this is the flood, they may go a little further out). The only way you can destroy the flood on any given map is to destroy that building. Maybe the building pictured is this spawning structure.

Just throwing ideas and possibilities out there.

Or possibly a proto-gravemind is housed in their. The more you take out, the dumber the flood get.

    Re: Flood Barracks

I think that once you find the flood they are able to wander freely around the map. plus ES has said that they can take over your troops that are infected, and that you can be attacked by what use to be your army.
