    Timeline achievement

While l was looking over achievement list for Halo Wars (you can find it on Halopedia) i stumbled on the achievement  of "Halo Historian", that you get when you unlock all the timeline events

Now does anyone else know anything about the "timeline events", are they a layed out timeline of the human-covenant war in either text or cinematic form? or are they just the games timelinethats displayed to give us a means to look back over key points of the campaign?

Here's the link with the list for those who would like to see

Just spitballing, maybe it will be similar to Gears of War 2's items you have to find that reveil information thats not revieled in the story. Dont ask me how that would work in an RTS

throughout the game, you will find black boxes that reveal more information about the Halo story line, hence the acheivement for finding all of them.

Your Guess is wrong... http://www.flippeh.de/funPics/toLazyToRename/failure%203.jpg ...talk about irony...

BTW it also shows how the flood would do if they end up being playable in Halo Wars.

To me, it might be similar to finding intelligence information in C&C3. From my opinion, I like to read background information, it helps to form a certain depth in the game.

I agree with Phantom Destroyer. The skulls require us to explore, while I'm guessing that any background information will be revealed similar to that in C&C3-revealed as we complete objectives, both optional and compulsory. Seems a bit narrow to have only timeline info revealed, but still, better that than no information at all.

    Re: Timeline achievement

Timeline achievement should be required since I have almost no idea on the story that Halo Wars take place besides Harvest.

I'm not sure about that one but for the one that you have to play 24 hours does it have to be non-stop?

Probably not, though one of Dead rising's achievements is playing the game non-stop for 14 hours.

Maybe ES wanted to go one better.

    Re: Timeline achievement

It would be cool that alongside the campaign, there would be scenarioes from frther down the line like the first battle for earth, the second battle for earth, battle for instillation 04 / 05 / 00, battle of reach and all that, with the only the sstuff, according to cannon, availiable, so on instillation o4, you only get marines, spartans, warthogs, pelicans, and scorpians. And earth you get everything in the UNSC arsenal.

and then there are flood bases all over the place that can be destroyed as a secondary objective and stuff only on the battles they were actully in like instillation 04/05/00 and the second battle for earth.

and they are all playable by both unsc and covies, to give players a covenant campaign-like experience.

so no scarabs, vampires or locust on instillation 04, but everything at 05 and you can only play brutes on the ark and earth 2.

Maybe we will unlock this sort of thing though, though timeline events.

But its these sort of things that we miss out on because we have no map and campaign editor! Bring them back! AOE II FTW!

and timeline infor might be unlock through secondary objectives (cause we know for a fact secondary objectives are in) and the skulls might be aswell, but i highly doubt the latter, since it would be completley different from halo 3.
