Ok im confused...

I have never read a halo book so im sorry.

But why dont the humans recruit thousands of more spartans after their ship exploded. I mean if you had 1000's before why not 1000's again. Now why dont Humans capture an Elite with Camo function and study it and apply it to the ODST armor. Also the shield Technology, Elites wear ALOT less armor then Spartans.

elite armor and spartan armor are reletivly the same, if you didnt realize the spartan project was THE MOST expensive operation in military funding, honestly the project was an utter failure and at the same time completly sucessful but that was by chance

ok, let me try to break this down... spartans arent recruited, they were abducted(because of their suppioror genetics).  do you have any idea how it costs to train one spartan?  it aint cheap my friend...

plus, to put camo and shields on ODST armor would mean they have change the whole layout of the suit design to make it work.  again, money. 

Elites have less armor than spartan?  yes.  You know why?  because, the tech is so advanced, that you need less of it.  the rule of thunb for tech; the more advanced, the smaller(or less) it gets

Clarification: only around 30 Spartan II's. There were several hundred Spartan III's deployed for practically suicide mission. They should have just stuck with the Spartan II's if you ask me.

Well i have never read a HALO book im actually a readaholic i read when im in bed, at school (not studying reading) in the car, the plane, the john, in between XBL matches i have just never bought a halo book before

100 (175 probably) can't remember exactly Spartans where originally picked, budget allowed it to be cut down to 75, out of those 75, 33 survived test, training and augmentations. And out of those around 8 Spartans are alive all of which are MIA or out of Military service.

Actually the books say that the SPARTAN-II Armor the MJOLNIR Mark-V and Mark-VI are even better than the elites armor when it came to shielding and ballistic armor. Dr. Halsey says that when they made the MJOLNIR that they even improved on the technology. Even the Elites have reported that the "Demon's" armor is superior to their own. so I think it safe to say that the SPARTAN-II armor is the best.

Yes, MJOLNIR mark V and VI are superior to both Elite and Brute armor. But it costed the same as, what, a fleet of ships to make 36 Spartan-IIs? Much to expensive to outfit the ODSTs. Also, only someone with extreme strength can wear the suit, or it would break all of your bones if you tried to move. No ODST could wear it.

Please do not talk about stuff u have no knowledge in. There were never thousands of Spartans, only 33 out of 75 survived the augumentation. And if u read Ghosts of Onyx, they did in fact make more, just not as good and well trained like the Spartan IIs. They did use some shield tech to aply it to to Spartans armour but nothing but a Spartan could wear the suits. If u just crack open a book it will answer many questions.

150 spartans were takin from their parents. All of them went on a mission and 30 came back functional to fight. A couple of others were severly injured and had to be takin care of not being able to fight.
