Another Canon Violation In The Hunters?

Now be warned I did not use the search bar.

Anyway, I was doing a second reading of Ghosts Of Onyx. I noticed something. It is stated that the UNSC encountered the Hunters come in contact with the hunters in 2537, it was during Operation Prometheus. It says 2537, roughly six years (not figuring in months and days) after Halo Wars(2531) correct?

    Sounds like Ensemble did.

Ghosts of Onyx was written by Eric Nylund in collaboration with Bungie and the Halo Bible.

I don't know Bungie has tended to keep the continuum together.

alright, you got me there. Allow me to change my argument.

We all know that flood are now confirmed in the game, which were also not discovered until way later in the timeline. Theres no way that esomblem *sp* is letting this stuff slip by un noticed.  so i think there are two possibilities.

    1. There letting this stuff slip by for the greater good of the game, and to make IT more fun.

or 2. At the end of the game, SoF is going to get blown the F*** up, before they can report any of this.

I have only read 3 of the six books.

As for acquiring them you may have to get them Online from a site like Amazon.

Re: Another Canon Violation In The Hunters?

If that is true look at it this way would you rather have hunters in the game and have it break a small part of the canon that (in my opinion) isn't exactly that important or have no hunters in the game what so ever

There can be some problems with data into the war, or it could have been done for gameplay reasons I mean it Hunter's didn't appear in a Halo Game it would be like taking the Ketchup out of a Hamburger, Ok not everyone likes there ketchup in a burger but lets face it its a key ingredient in it.

I dont think Ensemble have done something wrong with the story since they are ''working'' with Bungie on this too.

Re: Another Canon Violation In The Hunters?

    OMFG!

Lets go tell bungie on ES, This is such a big  deal!!!

    Seriously,

it is a video game, you buy video games for fun and gameplay, Not for storyline. If I want a good story I watch a movie or read a book, not play a video game.

I play games to have fun, and in order to have fun gameplay must be good weather it compromises canon or not! it's like complaining about a book lacking replayability!

And if it is too much of a big deal then ES can just change the storyline to fit. So stop complaining about crap that doesn't even matter!

It's simply a retcon. As if we went by all the books, espically Fall of Reach, the only Covenant Species we would fight are Grunts and Jackals.
