ahhhh, NT, always the pessimist arnt we?

I think that halo wars had great potential, however it was boiled down to the essentials too much, Supposedly the "mainstrea" audience is too stupid to know how to free build a base.

Anyways, ill still buy it, and will most likely greatly enjoy it, however i will always remember what couldve been...

In just the unfinished manual there are about a dozen canon errors. The graphics... the game went so far down the drain I don't care what it looks like, it's beyond hope.

i agree with the over-simplified part but, hey that's the way they made it. i do like the fire base however.

    Re: Halo wars: Any good?

I think its very good for the way ES has done it.

Some units are kinda iffy but really, it isnt as bad as i think everyone feels about it.

I think once we get our hands on the actual game and not still trying to think the game will be how we want it to be, and be happy that an RTS is available with the halo genre. We will come to like it alot mroe than we have now.

Halogen was almost available and it was better incomplete than Halo Wars will ever be.

    halogen is/was a mod for C&C generals

MS put a stop to it for their own reasons

The gameplay fragments were more impressive for Halogen, some of the custom units weren't very original imo though.
All in all: Halogen > Halo Wars.
