I was wondering im probaly getting a 360 for Christmas but it might be the arcade version is it worth getting it since of all the 360s failures (The red ring of death,the disc scratches, and others ) or should I get the elite or normal version?

ive got my 360 for about a year now, and i never even scratched a disc or had a red ring of death ( well, once, but it was a security one ) and i dont even know others. Then i really really really wouldnt advise taking the arcade version. You wont have any memory unit ( well, 256MB, wow that's not even enough for my halo 3 game ). I've got the normal version, with 20GB and i never reached the limit, however i most of the time am between 16GB and 14GB, so i would've taken the elite version if i could pick again.

I'm not an expert on this, but the Red ring of death was caused by faulty chips inside the machine that get damaged when the machine overheats.

The newer chips are better and should be less likely to have this problem (I believe it's called the falcon, or something like that.)

Edit: I looked it up and there are apparantly even newer ones called 'Jasper' and ther even better. Hopefully you'll get one of those in a new console.

As the Arcade is relatively new, it should have this chip instead of the older ones, so it should be fine.

Even so, make sure you keep the receipt and make sure you get in touch with microsoft at the first sign of trouble.

If you want to know value for money-wise, I'd say the premium version. I got a Core when I first started out, and I basically had to buy everything else I needed for the console (Hard Drive, Wireless network adapter, controllers, ETC) You get most of them with the premium and it's not that much more money.

get a normal one as its the best value for money yet i have a little plan for the arcade. say you get an arcade. instead of a harddrive you get a 525mb memory card, yet if you then by a normal xbox 40gb hardrive it will cost as much as the premuin yet you will get a free memory card out of it. me and my friend tried it and it worked :)

I am happy with my arcade that I got for christmas :) but it has very limited memory,so I prefer you get one with a harddrive(pro or something?)

I would get a X-box pro becuase if you got the arcade you would have to buy upgrades (like memory) and it would end up costing more
