    Elites and Tails?

Could Elites have tails? I know that bungie was thinking of having thme early on and then got rid of them, but think of it this way.....

When entering the military, could it be possible that the tails had to be removed so that not to give an enemy an advatage at close combat? When in armor, Elites where body gloves, so you cant see where the tail was. Some of you might say "The Arbiter didn't have a tail when he had his armor removed", but maybe the scar tissue had fully healed so you couldn't tell. Maybe regular civilians have tails as well...Just my thoughts....

Elites do not and never had a tail except in the Concept Arts

    Lol. Tails...

I don't think the Elites have tails. As you said, when the Arbiter is nekked their is no scar. There is no way a scar would heal. Especially not one from having their tails cut off. Also, I don't think the Elites would willingly serve the Prophets if they were messing with their bodies.

    Why?

They can walk perfectly fine without them so there wouldn't be a need for tails in the first place because tails are made for balance.

    Re: Elites and Tails?

i think bungie intended to give them tails but then thought, "where will their tail go when they get in a ghost?"

they thought it would have to go between their legs, and if you can't figure out why they didnt add tails, tell me and i'll explain

Bungie could have made the ghost have a slot for a tail if they indeed had given them tails. Or  darkapostle was somehow correct and they had to cut them off, which I highly doubt would be the case.

i had that idea too but then the elites would have had a nice big weak spot in the back of their ghost's armor (grabs sniper rifle)

still, would have made elites easier to kill in ghosts. *pulls trigger, elites guts explode across the controls of the ghost, which explodes*

    Re: Elites and Tails?

If I'm correct, the Elite came before the vehicles, so the vehicles were based off of the Elites body structure. The vehicle would be designed differently, or the Elites would have retractable tails. Just a note for those of you who are questioning how an Elite would sit in a ghost.

Humans do not posses the medical technologies to heal scar tissue, we cannot say the same for Elites. And Elites could heal scars on their own, without the need for special medicines, just like a cut would heal on us.

Considering the reptilian structure of the Elite, I think it's safe to say that there is a strong possibility that Elites do have tails.

i dont think the elites are reptiles. They don't have scales so the only thing that makes me think "lizard" about them is the shape of the head

They sacrifice their lives to the prophets in battle. They would rather die honorably then pick up a heratic weapon. I don't think messing with their bodies is going to change if they're loyal to the prophets or not.

The inward curve on the teeth, the flexible lower jaw, the powerful muscles. Elites do share many qualities with reptiles, however, I'm not saying that they are entirely based off reptiles. I'm just saying their overall appearence and structure resembles that of reptiles.
