    Helpers

This is sort of a suggestion for the Version 2 forums but It's a bit bigger suggestion and I think it deserves its own thread.

    Ok here it is.

At the moment we have a group of people called MODs, they are meant to moderate and keep the forums clean and tidy.

But only 3 of maybe 10(can't remember how many) of the Mods actually go on often. It is a bit difficult for 3 MODs to Moderate the whole forum.

So I suggest we have another group of users called Helpers.

These helpers job is to welcome new people, if they spam tell the Mods, tell them if they're doing something wrong e.g posting all in capitals or insulting people. Also if the people are new they can contact the Helpers for help.

The helpers should be people who go on often, and post lots and also have a large knowledge of the Halo Universe.

Some people who could be Helpers

Me of course lol Stick out tongue

    Dmand

    Skita1

    UNSC AI#23

    Rotaretibillo

    Ryce

NinjaTheory(just as long as he tames down his noob hammer lol)

    And some other people.

It would help keep the forums a better place.

    Post your comments.

    Re: Helpers

There is always a chance that such a system or something similar could be put in place in the future. I fathom that only the most proven to be responsible and helpful users even be considered for such a program. Note a good poster is not necessarily some one that posts a lot.

    Re: Helpers

    i hate knowing [almost] everythingAngel

But this is a very good idea, and a good poster is usually one with knowledge of what they are talking about

    Re: Helpers

Oh man, I saw something like this on this forum. It was in a "help" section designed by the creators of the thread. In it, it described the possibility of a "hierarchy" of MOD's, in which the lead MOD's could delegate certain tasks to the lower MOD's. I'll see if I can find it.

Edit: Here is it is. http://forums.halowars.com/languages/en-US/docs/faq.aspx#58
I got to it by clicking on the "pinned" icon for a thread. A little farther down, it mentions what I was talking about. It's under the Moderator section, and it is mentioned as a "user group" or a "role."

    Re: Helpers

Yeah post count does not mean a good mod...

I prob would not be a great mod and i have like the second or third most posts... The only experience i have had with moderating is in Halowars-strategy forums and there is nothing to moderate now except double posts and such..

    Re: Helpers

My moderating experience is quite decorated. However most of the sites i am a mod on have died or are dying.

    Re: Helpers

Definitely think that its a good idea however the "helpers" couldnt have too much power because they could abuse their power.

    Re: Helpers

the "helpers" could be appointed by the mods or nominated then elected. similar to an election

    Re: Helpers

not too much power but that would be the responsiblity of the mods to pick responsible and dedicated "helpers".. Someone who is on a lot and is responsible
